Near Liyu Lake, you can easily visit the Chihnan National Forest Recreation Area. If you have more energy, you can also go to Liyu Mountain. The park offers many walking trails, each a short distance. You can spend about 1-2 hours walking around the entire park, easily enjoying nature.

At the end of the railway, you can wade in the stream. The trails are all connected, so you won't get lost. Children can play for a long time with just the animal puzzles at the visitor center.

There are many machines available for children to observe and experience. The park's walking paths are well-planned, making it suitable for both children and seniors to visit. The indoor exhibition halls are detailed and rich in content, and there is ample parking space, making it ideal for bringing your own food for a picnic. Children particularly enjoyed the carousel experience. It would be even better if more hands-on experience courses were offered. It was a pity that there were no experiential activities during the pandemic! It's very convenient to purchase half-price and full-price tickets in advance.

Surrounded by numerous relics from that era, you can imagine Hualien's most magnificent forestry stories.

Around April, there are firefly viewing events that you can register for in advance.
