The orange-red of the red maple is particularly striking! 🔴 49K Xiaoxueshan Information Station Area: Maple foliage is 60% red. This is the highest elevation area in the recreation area, with the largest temperature difference between day and night. Today, I'm back at Dasyueshan to enjoy the free air conditioning. The mountain temperature is very cool (16 degrees Celsius). The rain kept starting and stopping today, so I thought there wouldn't be much to see. Who knew that in the evening, a spectacular scene unfolded? Today's sunset and sea of clouds were perfect, plus there was a rainbow after the rain. I also encountered Swinhoe's Pheasants and muntjacs on patrol. Today was full of beautiful scenery. Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area always offers a different experience. The sea of clouds season is about to begin, making it well worth a visit.

Purchase an e-ticket to enter the National Forest Recreation Area and receive a limited-edition Taiwan animal coaster. This area, with an elevation of over 2,000 meters, boasts a cool climate. Currently, only the Xiaoshenmu Trail and the Wooden Horse Trail retain their original giant cypress forests, making them one of the most beautiful sights in the recreation area. The 50-meter-tall Xueshan Sacred Tree, located in the deepest part of the recreation area, was once Taiwan's 11th largest giant tree!

The toll station is located at 35k on Snow Mountain Road, and the visitor center is at 43k. In other words, after paying the toll, you still need to drive 8 kilometers to reach the visitor center. The scenery was beautiful, and it was drizzling that day with the temperature around two degrees Celsius, almost snowing. The driver even showed us photos he took of a fat mountain goat, saying it was a good omen for the first day of the Lunar New Year. The bread we brought also expanded due to the air pressure. It was a very unique and unforgettable experience!
