Basianshan, one of Taiwan's three major forest farms, is located in Heping District, Taichung City, covering an area of 2,492.32 hectares. It is one of Taiwan's Eight Scenic Spots. The recreation area features three forest bathing trails, all starting from the Basianshan Villa parking lot. 1. Along the Shiwen Stream to its upper reaches. 2. Follow the downhill steps to the dam area (currently under maintenance). 3. Climb the stairs, turn right, pass the parking lot, and continue uphill through a forest path and bamboo grove to the Japanese shrine and elementary school ruins, reaching the trailhead. 4. Purchase tickets at the ticket booth; drive up to the visitor center; drop off guests and depart. 5. Inside the visitor center, there is an introduction to Basianshan's history. 6. At the end of the path next to the souvenir shop is the confluence of the Shiwen Stream and Jiabao Stream.

A very comfortable place. Purchasing a package includes free parking, which is very cost-effective. Upon entering the park, you can quickly scan the QR code for convenient and fast entry. The set meal prices at the park's restaurants are between 300-400, and you can choose outdoor seating, where the environment is very pleasant. This time, we took a route that was about an hour long, not too strenuous, and we could see early train stations, school sites, and so on. The forest park area has dense trees, and if there's a chance next time, we might consider staying there👍

It's super convenient to enter with a pre-purchased ticket. The park environment is tranquil and comfortable, and the restaurant is excellent! If you haven't been, I highly recommend tackling the eldest of the Guguan Seven Heroes; it's truly very challenging. The trail is rocky and winds steeply upwards, so it's highly advisable to bring trekking poles! It's a shame the waterside area wasn't open, which was very disappointing 😔... The visitor center is exceptionally well-planned, and listening to the guided tours and viewing the exhibitions is also a great pleasure.

Baxianshan National Forest Recreation Area is truly amazing. The air is fresh, the primeval forest is well-preserved, and the temperature is around 26°C, which is very comfortable. You feel completely refreshed by the negative ions. The original ticket price is NT$150, but you can enjoy a discounted price of NT$98 by purchasing tickets on KLOOK. Student tickets can be bought on-site for NT$75.

Buying tickets through Klook is convenient, and on-site holiday tickets are 150, so buying here is cheaper and parking is free, which is a great deal. The water in the hydrophilic area is refreshingly cool, and the children had a lot of fun playing in it. The natural scenery along the trails is beautiful, and the restaurant food is also good with friendly service. Highly recommended!

Buying tickets online in advance is a great idea, and sometimes the prices are even cheaper than at the gate. Baxianshan National Forest Recreation Area is a wonderful place to relax and also perfect for taking photos; every shot looks beautiful. However, it can get crowded on holidays, so it's best to go early. I highly recommend purchasing tickets online.

There's a Valley Light Festival going on, so before heading to Guguan, I chose to visit Baxianshan first. There are routes of varying difficulty levels available for challenge. Baxianshan is a historical and educational attraction, and also one of Taiwan's Eight Scenic Spots. Using Klook is convenient and saves time; you can just scan at the toll booth to enter and get free parking.

Free parking with Klook, convenient and easy to use. The second parking lot is very close to the waterside area, and the children had a blast. The Baxianshan trail is suitable for children and those with mobility issues, making for an easy walk. It's also close to Guguan. For lunch at the restaurant inside Baxianshan, go early to avoid a long wait. The food is delicious.
