Perfect for children experiencing snow for the first time. The snow play area is not far from the restaurant, and the restaurant food is above average. The children didn't want to leave. It's also close to Nagoya city, and the best part is the hot spring experience, which is truly excellent value. You don't need to bring anything; just rent towels on-site. The bathhouse amenities are very complete and clean, and it's very comfortable to soak in the outdoor hot spring while enjoying the snow.
This was one of the highlights of my trip to Nagoya! The weather wasn't the best; it was foggy and even drizzled a bit, but we got to see it snow! We couldn't see a thing at the observatory, but it was quite an experience. The driver (Ah Bu) was amazing, driving us there safely and professionally!
The easiest way to get to Shinhotaka is by shuttle bus, which is very convenient. You can also visit the Hida Limestone Cave, which is highly recommended. 🤩🤩

(date of tour: april 2) we were not able to have a pic of the Northern Alps in the Alpscape due to zero visibility but we were blessed with a snowfall. the snow outside the cafes are still thick though its already spring in the city. worth the money if you want a day trip from Nagoya
The moving snow scenery all over the mountains and valleys, the dedicated driver, the lovely and kind tour guide Yilin, a wonderful experience. Next time, I will revisit in spring to enjoy the flowers.
Every star is for the driver; the service was excellent, very thoughtful and considerate, making our trip full of wonderful memories.
There were exactly seven people in this group. The tour guide, who was also the driver, drove a minivan for the tour. The experience was great, and the seats were quite comfortable. On the way back, there was traffic, but the guide remained very patient. Five-star review!! (I happen to prefer guides who don't talk much, and the guide we had didn't talk much in the car, allowing us to rest well!)
Although the Hida Caves were cancelled, the extra time on the cable car allowed us to see more snow, which was great. Thank you to the tour guide and driver for safely taking us. Highly recommended! 👍👍👍
