We booked for 10 people, 5 women and 5 children. Before the trip, the boat company contacted us via WhatsApp to arrange the journey and had a guide contact us. We rented a van from another company. The boat company and the van company communicated with each other, and the guide came out to pick us up at the van. The guide, Tom, took great care of us. He was cheerful and explained things well throughout the trip. The boat was clean, and he took good care of the children who wanted to play in the bathtub. There was a warm shower room. The buffet food was good, and the spring rolls were delicious. In the evening, there were snacks and fruits. Drinks were not included with the food, but the water was not expensive. I recommend bringing cash to pay on the boat, as credit cards incur a 4% surcharge. Overall, we were very impressed. Value for money: 5 Service: 5 Attractions along the way: 5 Safety: 5 Itinerary: 5
Here’s a polished and meaningful version of your Ha Long Bay day cruise review: > The cruise ship was beautiful, with clean glass windows and comfortable seating. The crew was very friendly and welcoming. The buffet was amazing — especially the sea clams — and the evening tea with fresh fruit was a nice touch. Our guide, Tom, was super friendly and helpful. service: I booked just a few hours before the trip, and the team still managed to confirm and arrange everything perfectly, even outside working hours. Big thanks to the Odyssey team for making this trip possible right before the Matmo typhoon. Truly appreciate your effort and love you all!
Before departure, we received a notification that our originally booked Odyssey cruise was fully booked by a group, and we were directly switched to the Apollo cruise. Although customer service stated it was a more premium vessel, after checking online, I found the prices were similar, so it didn't seem more premium. The shuttle bus was new, with charging ports, and the space was comfortable and spacious. The buffet on board was average; not particularly delicious but not bad either, enough to fill you up. Drinks required an additional fee, but the prices were not expensive. 1. Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave): The journey was further than expected, and the cave was larger than expected. Overall, it was relatively easy to walk through, but there were many people, so we had to queue for a while to enter. Initially, everyone stopped to take photos, which slowed things down a bit, but it became smoother later on. There was a spot in the middle for free photos with a keychain, and you could pay an additional 100,000 VND to purchase the photos. The scenery was quite similar throughout, and it felt a bit boring in the middle, but the view overlooking Ha Long Bay from the top at the end was beautiful. 2. Luon Cave: Twelve people per bamboo raft. The boatman stopped at recommended photo spots to help everyone take pictures, and his attitude was friendly. We gave him a tip at the end to encourage and thank him. You can do the same if you encounter good service. 3. Ti Top Island: The timing for landing on the island was perfect, just as the sun was about to set. You could watch the sunset on the beach or hike up to the highest pavilion. However, the steps in the middle had large height differences, and the stairs were narrow, so extra caution was needed. The sunset party wasn't as good as imagined; it was just some fruits and biscuits to keep everyone from getting bored on the way back. After the sun set, sitting on the top deck felt a bit cold with the wind, so we eventually went downstairs to sit and shelter from the wind while waiting to enter the port. I gave the driver and tour guide 50,000 VND each as a tip. I'm not sure what the going rate is, but I offer this for your reference.
Great cruise, absolutely recommended! The organizers were really helpful and the whole trip went with absolutely no issues. Recommended!
really great service and really helpful, event though i book the service at last minute. they manage to do everything really good and neat. good job
The best crews. From Hanoi to Ha Long Bay, the crew was really helpful. Service was top-notch. Thank you very much 👍
Chuyến đi rất tốt. Anh Tĩnh là hướng dẫn viên rất nhiệt tình.
The night before departure, under the pretext that the yacht needed maintenance the next day, they said they would upgrade us to another boat (as if boat maintenance would be decided so last minute). Switching to another boat was a complete disaster; it was incredibly crowded with too many people. The food ingredients were also not fresh. As for the tour guide, their only role was to lead us onto the boat; for other scenic spot introductions, it would have been more practical to just use Google ourselves!!! Finally, I'm giving such a harsh review because I had just visited Ha Long Bay in January 2025, and the boat I took then had very fresh ingredients, with a table full of tender seafood dishes (unlike this time, which used cheap ingredients and many inexpensive fried foods to fill up the table). The guide back then led the group while explaining the origins, stories, and interesting facts of each scenic spot. Compared to this experience, it was truly the difference between heaven and hell.
