The highlight of our trip to Kyoto. Our instructors were kind and patient. You get to choose what you will be writing from a binder, many options. My husband and I really enjoyed this experience. Highly recommend. Easy location to find as well. Many shops and restaurants near by.

Niko and Mana were wonderful. They gave us an incredible lesson in the art of Japanese calligraphy, and it was one of the best experiences we had in Kyoto. Their activities are highly recommended, as they reflect a beautiful part of the spirit of Japan. Thank you for this lovely teaching.

¡Absolutamente vale la pena ir! Una experiencia maravillosa con profesores pacientes y alentadores. La sesión duró una hora, comenzando con una explicación de los Kanji. Puedes elegir qué palabra pintar en la hoja y practicar los trazos. ¡Es difícil pero divertido! Al final, tu práctica se presenta en un tablero o abanico. Lo recomendaría absolutamente. Los profesores estuvieron allí en cada paso del camino y animaron a practicar mejor. Volvería a hacerlo.

At the last minute of an already pleasant day, my 11 and 13-year-old sons and I decided to book this course, and we are very happy we did. They welcomed us in traditional attire with big smiles and greetings. After explaining the tools useful for the course (brush, paper…), we chose the concept to copy and started with the practice. The help, explanations, and advice were always appreciated, and after practicing, you replicate the chosen concept on the final sheet. Everything you produce, you can take home. Highly recommended experience; I am Italian and don't speak English, but I had a lot of fun. Recommended experience.

Small group calligraphy class with super welcoming hosts, with the option to wear a Yukata if you wish. We really enjoyed the moment.

This was a peaceful and informative part of my Japan trip! You get to learn the history and culture of Japanese calligraphy and you get souvenirs to bring home as well. I’ll definitely book this experience again whenever I come back to Kyoto.

I really enjoyed this workshop; both hosts took their time to teach us the proper techniques and let us practice before making something we could take home and display. It's one of my favorite souvenirs from our trip!

Amazing experience considering it wasn't top of my wish list. Great tuition, small group so almost one to one help. Thought it wouldn't be too challenging but it was, and because of that most enjoyable. Would definitely do it again.
