This was my first time in Hokkaido, and I was traveling alone with limited mobility, so I was a bit anxious. However, I found a tour plan that met all my hopes and decided to join a tour for the first time! I was initially worried because the guide and driver were foreigners, but they explained and guided us carefully in both Japanese and a foreign language, and they were very pleasant! At the zoo, I barely had enough time to look around and didn't have time for lunch. I thought another 30 minutes would have been nice. Also, I wondered if I would have seen the main animals better if I had entered through the main gate, but overall, it was fun seeing many animals unique to Hokkaido! The Seven Star Tree and Patchwork Road were also very lovely! Farm Tomita had many tourists, and I couldn't eat the melon souvenir, so I wished I had a little more time. Nevertheless, I'm grateful and had a great time as they showed me many places I couldn't have visited on my own. Thank you very much!
It was truly wonderful. The tour guide was attentive, provided excellent introductions, and took great care of us. We got to experience all the highlights of the itinerary, and the entire process was very comfortable. The bus was pleasant for sitting and sleeping, and with a small group, it wasn't too crowded. Everyone was punctual. Sometimes on vacation, you just want to relax and not rush through an itinerary, so this kind of day trip is truly perfect. You can rest on the bus, occasionally enjoy the scenery, and then get off to play and take photos. It's very relaxing and saves you the fatigue of driving yourself. The penguins were incredibly cute, and the bears were my favorite animals we saw this time. The Shirahige Waterfall was also spectacular and beautiful. The best part of the whole experience was the tour guide's comfortable introductions and care. And one little bonus was that our hotel was the meeting point for the day trip, so we just had to go downstairs to meet and get on the bus to go out and have fun. Super happy, highly recommend!
Trip runs smoothly & we'll organise by friendly tour leader (Oscar). Fun to see beautiful animals such as polar bear, penguins, chimpanzee etc at the zoo. Great & beautiful view at blue pond & Shirahige Falls, worth to visit. Buffet lunch also yummy, especially cantaloupe, sweet & juicy.
Our guide, Ms. Lisa, was fantastic—very knowledgeable about the places, and incredibly kind, cheerful, and warm. We truly enjoyed the tour. We just wish we had more time at Blue Pond, as it felt a bit short and we wanted to fully appreciate the views and nature. Overall, this is one of the best tours we’ve booked. We can’t wait to come back for the summer Furano lavender field tour!
Our family enjoyed this trip so much. The kids enjoyed the zoo. It was our first time to ride a snowmobile. We enjoyed the guided activity and felt safe. Good thing, Oscar was very professional and led our group very well. It was an organized, hassle-free trip.
I joined this trip and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my Hokkaido trip. Even as a solo traveler, the trip felt very comfortable and well organized. Asahiyama Zoo was a great first stop, especially seeing the penguins and polar bears. The Blue Pond was stunning. Just a short distance away, Shirahige Falls added a beautiful contrast with its powerful white streams flowing into the blue river. We wrapped up the day at Ningle Terrace, which felt like a fairytale forest village. A special mention goes to Mandy, our tour guide. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive even for solo travelers. Mandy explained each place clearly, managed the timing perfectly, and kindly helped me take photos. She made sure everyone felt included and comfortable throughout the day. As a solo traveler, I truly appreciated how smooth and stress-free the entire trip was. I never felt rushed or out of place, and everything was handled professionally.
I’m really glad I decided to join the Asahiyama Klook tour — it was absolutely worth it. Our tour guide, Emma, was fantastic. She didn’t just bring us around; she carefully explained the pros and cons of each spot and advised us where to go first, which helped us avoid crowds and save a lot of time. That made the whole experience so much smoother and more enjoyable. It was also our lucky day! According to Emma, it hadn’t snowed for the past three weeks, and we were lucky enough to see fresh snow during our visit ❄️ It made the scenery even more magical. Emma is also amazing at taking photos! She helped my boyfriend and me capture so many beautiful shots together, which made the trip even more memorable 🤍 No regrets at all joining this tour — highly recommended if you’re visiting Hokkaido! The tour was well-organised, punctual, and stress-free. Definitely no regrets joining this tour — highly recommended for anyone visiting Hokkaido!
I had a great trip! Mandy was our tour guide and she was very attentive to each of us. We had such an enjoyable time and managed to take great pictures at each place. I’m really grateful to our guide because she managed our time really well. Due to her care, we were able to visit each point and enjoy the cutest penguin walk without rush and take a stroll at the Ningle Terrace with satisfaction. I totally recommend this tour as we managed to sightsee three towns in one day; I totally couldn’t have done it by myself. The tour also explained Hokkaido history very well and helped us recommend a lot of Hokkaido delicacies. Even my mom adored Mandy and loved this trip; it’s totally worth it. Thank you! ❤️
There was an accident involving other vehicles on the road, and heavy snow made the highway unusable. I was very worried that the visit to the Ningle Terrace would be canceled due to darkness. However, fortunately, all the tour members were in good spirits and very cooperative, always returning to the bus within the time limit to continue the journey. We managed to keep to the schedule and still visit the Ningle Terrace, returning smoothly to Sapporo to complete this day trip. I'd like to give a special thank you to our guide, Lisa, first and foremost! Lisa is proficient in multiple languages, well-versed in local Japanese culture and specialties (especially various lavender products and Water Cream made from hot spring water – thank you for the introduction, the products are excellent value for money), and also knows the similarities and differences between various towns. Along the way, she continuously introduced the unique aspects of the attractions, making what would have been a dull several-hour drive much more enriching. When participants had questions, Lisa would patiently listen and provide appropriate suggestions whenever possible, which greatly benefited us and saved us from many detours, hahaha! If we have a long holiday again, especially in the summer when the Biei snowfields are in full bloom, and if Ms. Lisa happens to be leading a tour again, my girlfriend and I will definitely come back to support her. It's a pity that at the zoo, the capybara was not feeling well that day and was moved elsewhere to recuperate; the chimpanzees and monkeys were also sent elsewhere due to the cold weather, and their enclosures were closed. As for the highly anticipated penguin parade, Lisa also mentioned that it was December 10th, and the daytime temperature was only 2 degrees Celsius, so the penguins would find it too hot and would go on strike 😂, which was true! Fortunately, we could still see the penguins repeatedly rushing to the surface and diving back in, and the baby penguins were also very energetic, so the trip was still worthwhile.
We joined a one-day tour with guide Emma. She was full of humor, and since there were Japanese, Chinese, and Filipino speakers on the bus, she patiently repeated everything three times. I've included a photo of Emma walking in the snow from behind. Biei Farm was the most enjoyable stop; we rode snowmobiles. I recommend one per person for a better experience, but this time, the person in front of me was too slow, so I didn't get to experience the thrill of speeding up TT. You must try the milk and ice cream in Biei; they are delicious! However, please note that ice cream is not allowed on the bus. If you bought a tour package with meals, you might not have enough time to finish your ice cream. The only downside of the one-day tour was that we had to leave Asahiyama Zoo before seeing all the animals. The Ningle Terrace was too wet and a bit dirty due to melting snow, and without the lights on, it wasn't very impressive. We should have spent more time at the zoo, haha. If it's not dark yet, you're not interested in cultural and creative products, and you haven't eaten properly all day, I recommend eating directly at the restaurant near Prince Snow Resort instead of going into Ningle Terrace, as the restaurant closes at 3:30 PM.
