The experience was fantastic! The itinerary is well-organized, and I was grateful that the sequence of the activities (sandboarding, kayaking, snorkelling) I was assigned to was perfect because the sand, sweat, and sunscreen were washed off during the snorkelling, haha. We had an early lunch, before noon. The DIY wrap was quite filling, so don't worry about whether you have the strength to play, haha.
Overall, I enjoyed the trip. It was well-organized and efficient, and everything went as described. However, there is some information you should be aware of in advance. The activities can be physically intense, so please opt out if you are not fit enough. Additionally, the guides will not provide personal care; you should be able to follow the group. They will divide us into four groups of 15 people each to do three activities: sandboarding for two groups together, while one group does snorkeling and kayaking. There is only one guide for sandboarding and kayaking, but two for snorkeling, plus a jet ski, to ensure everyone is safe. Each activity takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour. I was lucky that my group started with sandboarding, then snorkeling and kayaking, so I could change after getting wet. Lunch is a 'make your own wrap' style, allowing you to choose what you like, along with potato chips and chocolate chip cookies. The toilets on the island are not good, and there are no shower rooms, so please use the toilet on the ferry and bring your towel. We saw a whale from the ferry, so keep an eye out! The group before us saw three turtles during snorkeling, but we didn't – though we saw plenty of fish. Be careful of shipwrecks and coral, as it can be shallow and difficult to navigate. Also, kayaking was relatively short, all due to the strong current, which is understandable.
We chose to take the shuttle from Roma Street Coach Terminal at 7 AM. It took about an hour to reach the port. The Moreton Island Adventure is a huge ship that can even transport cars, which is very cool. The activities included transparent kayaking, snorkeling, and sandboarding. Kayaking was fun; you could paddle near the shipwreck area and throw bait to attract fish. Snorkeling offered a good variety of fish, though the species were limited. The water was quite clear, but the underwater scenery was average. Plus, with many people snorkeling and kayaks around, it was easy to interfere with each other. I felt it wasn't as beautiful as Cebu. Moreover, for a group of about twenty people snorkeling, there was only one leader and one person on a jet ski supervising. At one point, I got separated from the group while snorkeling and didn't know where they went. It was the jet ski staff who noticed and brought me back to them. Lunch was a simple buffet, offering something similar to kebab wraps. Sandboarding started around 1 PM. You had to climb the slope barefoot, and it was extremely windy at the top, covering your entire head and body with sand. When sliding down, sand would even get into your clothes and pockets. I truly brought a whole body full of sand home.
Friendly and experienced staff who made tour journey become safe and fun. Saw lots of fishes during snorkeling and kayaking. Unluckily, sand boarding was canceled due to the bad weather ( The sand was too wet), but we were still able to go for a walk on desert and took some good pictures
It’s a good day out in Moreton Island. Enjoyed kayaking with transparent kayaks and saw fish swimming under our feet. Snorkeling tour was fun too but water was chilling even with wetsuits on. Sand-boarding was a rare experience and we lived it. Simple buffet lunch with wraps, salad, chips, muffins and water included. Booking with Klook with spring promotion discount was good too.
Itinerario muy interesante y divertido, sentimos que nos lanzaron a las actividades para que disfrutáramos. Mínima guía de los guías, justo lo suficiente para que las actividades se pusieran en marcha.
It was indeed a great experience for my husband and me. Thanks to the friendly and experienced staff who made our journey safe and fun. Sandboarding is a must-do! You cannot miss kayaking and snorkeling, as the staff will explain the story about the shipwreck and the marine life in Moreton Island. Thank you, Sunset Safari and the staff.
I had the Moreton Island trip on March 16th. Such a well-planned trip, I must say! A shout-out to the amazing crew, Nedd and Jo. Nedd was patient and kind from beginning to end. He introduced the trip in detail while on the cruise. And he was there to help me during snorkeling. Without him, I wouldn't have enjoyed the snorkeling at all. Jo was there to help my mom as well, even though my mom can't speak English. I appreciate such a wonderful crew team!
This tour was really fun! Moreton Bay is legitimately pretty with crystal clear sea! Our tour guides were very friendly and helpful (the other staff working there too!) Thanks so much for the tour, had a great time with friends there. Those with short-sightedness can consider bringing their own prescription goggles as they only have normal snorkeling goggles.
The team is very friendly and helpful. Snowboarding, kayaking, and snorkeling are well organized. The lunch is unexpectedly delicious.
