Miyakojima: Excursão noturna pela selva subtropical e céu estrelado (Okinawa)

It was a very fun experience. The instructor was knowledgeable, friendly, and able to communicate fluently with the group. We started in a big group, and a portion of the group had to return to their vehicle. She was able to help them out while the rest of us continued searching for wildlife. She did mention what to look out for, and there were other groups around, so it still felt safe. She returned and continued the tour. We were lucky that another group was able to find the coconut crab, so a lot of people got pictures. It was a windy and cold night, making finding the crab harder than usual.

Due to many clouds in the sky, the starlight tour was unfortunately impossible, and the main activity was finding coconut crabs in the jungle. I was a bit disappointed when we didn't find any coconut crabs at the first spot, but as we went further in, we started seeing smaller ones, and in total, we saw about three. I was particularly happy because I found the biggest one myself, hearing the "Oh-ssu" sound that guide Mayu-chan told us they make when moving. Besides coconut crabs, we also saw various other creatures like purple hermit crabs, spiders, lizards, and large white ones. Mayu-chan also gave detailed explanations about the trees and plants, but since I don't know many Japanese proper nouns, I only understood the general context. I was on the tour with other Japanese people, and since I can speak travel Japanese, we didn't need to use English. It was also cute to see the reactions of the Japanese participants. Please note that it's a jungle, so you should be prepared for many insects and high humidity! I was grateful to Mayu-chan for preparing Santa hats and small gifts, as it was the day before Christmas Eve!

I recently participated in a jungle tour in Miyakojima, and it was an activity that exceeded my expectations! The guide was very friendly and explained the nature, flora, and fauna of Miyakojima in an easy-to-understand way, so it felt like I was "learning while enjoying" rather than just walking. The course itself wasn't too strenuous, so I think even beginners can participate with peace of mind. During the tour, I experienced rare plants I don't usually see and Miyakojima's "other nature." While Miyakojima is known for its many marine activities, this tour, where I could feel the tranquility and power of the jungle, was truly a valuable experience. There are also many photo spots, so I definitely recommend it to nature lovers! If you want to discover the charm of Miyakojima beyond just its beaches, please give this tour a try.

An amazing and breathtaking experience, from the torchlit walk to discover the nightlife of the splendid island of Miyakojima, to the grand finale, a riot of stars that captivates, gluing your eyes to the sky. Compliments to our professional and very friendly guide, thank you for the beautiful photos taken, we had a lot of fun and were very moved.

The weather was a bit disappointing. It was a cold, rainy, and windy day, so we couldn't see any coconut crabs or stars. However, our guide, Shuri, worked really hard to find things and explain them, which my child absolutely loved. I think it would be great to try again in the summer. We toured with two Japanese people, and it was nice that the guide switched between English and Japanese for explanations.

I applied for this tour because my wife and I wanted to try a unique experience on our honeymoon in Miyakojima. We met a kind guide who explained everything well, and my wife and I had a pleasant time exploring. It's a great opportunity to see many creatures in the Miyakojima jungle (spiders, toads, hermit crabs, coconut crabs, etc.). The guide can explain in Japanese and English, so I highly recommend it to Koreans if you have time in the evening!

I came to Miyakojima alone for my birthday and booked a jungle tour as my first day's activity. My goal was to see the sky full of stars, but given the season, the weather didn't cooperate. Although I was disappointed not to see the stars, I was fully satisfied with the tour, which showcased the untouched natural beauty of the pristine island. At the end of the course, there was time to quietly appreciate Miyakojima's night sea, and that moment was truly wonderful!
