Maggie has been an excellent tour guide! This was my first time booking a group tour and I was hesitant at first but I’m glad I did. The tour was paced well, I did not feel rushed and I honestly felt that the allotted time for each location was sufficient enough to get a feel and have fun in each place. We were in Ine Bay from 10:15 AM to 10:55 AM, which included the boat ride. A tip that I would give if you’re not into feeding seagulls is to skip the boat ride and just explore the Ine Bay/boathouses on foot. The next stop was Amanohashidate and we were there for 2 hours, then the last stop was the Miyama thatched village, which was phenomenal. Make sure to try their milk!! 🫶🏼
Thank you, Tour Guide Xiao Gao, for taking us to see our first snow! I finally understood that snowflakes "really are hexagonal"! Videos or online photos are too "flat"; real snowfall has layers of depth, including speed, density, and angle, weaving together the romantic world described by poets. I really liked the attractions you planned; all three key points were perfectly arranged, a very strong itinerary! However, I think it would have been better if the time allocated for Miyama could be extended. You could really find a corner there to enjoy a coffee and just relax! Also, Tour Guide Xiao Gao's final story about "young people" was hilarious, and I totally get it because my hometown also has a serious aging population! Finally, I wish you and your children peace and happiness! As long as there is peace, you can find the light shining through the leaves, and this light can help a small tree grow into a big tree!
This was a beautiful day tour in the Japanese countryside. We first went to Amanohashidate where we had lunch at the scenic restaurant at Kasamatsu Park. Then we went to the breathtaking Ine Boathouse where we admired the seagulls and enjoyed good cup of coffee at Tug Boathouse Coffee. Finally, we enjoyed the sunset at Miyama Village. In between sites, our tour guide would offer to buy us local delicacies like pudding and donut to try. I totally recommend doing this day trip if you are around Osaka or Kyoto. The sites are quite far apart from each other so they can only be conveniently explored through day tours.
This was my first time joining a one-day group tour in Japan, and Amanohashidate and Ine no Funaya were truly wonderful and so much fun. Although we couldn't go out to sea by boat due to strong winds and waves, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we got to feed seagulls with shrimp crackers in the small bay parking lot in Ine, which was incredibly enjoyable. Remember to buy a large pack of shrimp crackers because there are really a lot of seagulls. Our tour guide, Maggie, was truly amazing. She constantly switched between Chinese, English, and Japanese to provide tour information, kindly answered all our questions, and even asked each of us individually, so we also asked her for advice on concerns we had about our independent travel. It was the first time I've met such a friendly and capable tour guide. Miyama's thatched-roof village was just okay, perhaps because I had already visited Shirakawa-go's thatched-roof village. What was surprisingly good was the donut in Miyama recommended by the tour guide. In short, just follow tour guide Maggie's recommendations. For going up and down Amanohashidate, I took the single chairlift both times. It moves very slowly, only a little bit scary, and takes only seven minutes to go up or down. The weather was great, and those seven minutes were very comfortable.
An itinerary that was nothing short of exciting and well-conceived, which unfortunately we couldn't fully enjoy due to bad weather, but it was an unforgettable experience nonetheless. The guide was courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. One of the best excursions outside Kyoto to take!
First, let me explain that the itinerary for a one-day tour doesn't allow for much free time, usually around 1.5-2 hours. This time, we visited three places, mostly in the suburbs, so a significant portion of the time was spent traveling. However, if you haven't opted for a self-driving tour, the cost-effectiveness is still quite high. The scenery at these locations is beautiful, and if you have a bit of budget, I recommend trying the Ine Bay seagull feeding boat trip and the Amanohashidate single-person cable car during the tour. Our tour guide this time was named Meg, and she provided professional knowledge and introductions in both service and guiding, and she constantly checked on the guests throughout the journey. If the guide recommends something delicious, please try it, because we found everything recommended this time to be very tasty and enjoyable.
This day trip was truly excellent value and unforgettable! The tour guide's explanations were very thoughtful, not only introducing the history of the attractions but also adding many local life insights, making the entire trip much more in-depth. The sea breeze at Amanohashidate, the tranquil fishing village of Ine Funaya, and the pastoral mountain scenery of Miyama Kayabuki no Sato – these three spots each have a different atmosphere, like traveling through three different worlds. The transportation arrangements were very smooth, and the driver was steady. The scenery along the way was comfortable and relaxing, and the overall pace was just right, neither rushed nor dragging. There was also ample time for photos during the trip, allowing everyone to leisurely immerse themselves in the beautiful scenery, enjoy a cup of coffee, or quietly experience the tranquility of rural Japan. In terms of price, it offers incredibly high value for money. In just one day, you can experience the diverse facets of coastal areas, mountain villages, and culture. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed the day tour immensely especially with the great weather. Chose klook as the three locations are hard to get to on our own. Travel time is long with at least 4-5h on the bus. Diverse activities at each place which makes the trip really fun. Only drawback was the very big tour group of more than fifty.
Thanks to Orange Bus for the itinerary. Amanohashidate and Miyama-cho are difficult to reach, but with the bus, it's easy to get around. Our tour guide, Maggie, was very thoughtful and friendly. She introduced the highlights of each attraction and also pointed out those that weren't particularly special. She also recommended souvenirs and must-try snacks at each location and clearly communicated meeting times, showing great professionalism. As for the attractions themselves, although they were a bit below my expectations, they were still beautiful. Ine Funaya wasn't particularly special, but the sea was truly blue, and feeding the seagulls was fun. The view of the sandbar from Kasamatsu Park was stunning, though the park itself was a bit small. If you're not eating seafood near Amanohashidate, it's better to eat at the observation deck in Kasamatsu Park; it's comfortable and offers an expansive view. The thatched-roof village in Miyama-cho felt like an ancient, secluded hamlet, but it wasn't as breathtaking as I'd hoped. One should sit in a cafe to take in the whole atmosphere from afar, but unfortunately, there were no outdoor cafes. Overall, the countryside was nice, but after visiting, the mystique was gone. Thanks to our guide Maggie for helping with photos, buying tickets, and snacks along the way. I wish you all the best in your work.
This experience was truly magical. I have senior parents and they had fun with this experience. We rode the chairlift, fed seagulls, and were blessed with an amazing view. The food in the area was also good; we will definitely want to go here in a colder season.
