this was possibly the highlight of my whole trip. I loved every second of the performances and they left my jaw dropped. I know The Monkey King is the hero but honestly the demon girl stole my heart and I was rooting for her more. would definitely recommend and would definitely go again. if you are in taiwan, specifically Taipei then you must go to this performance.

One of the best travel experiences! The pre-performance activities that started at 7pm were so fun. The show started at 8pm and was very easy to follow along the plot of the show, especially with the subtitles in English, Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin. I believe they provided free taxis back as well. I would recommend to anyone and I'd go again if I ever visit Taipei again!

Such a unique cultural experience! I'm so happy we found this in Klook as I think this is severely underrated. It was a light yet action packed performance with some tumblings/acrobatics and live orchestra at the side. They had teleprompters in English at the side so foreign audience can follow the plot. There were also pre-performance activities and merch at the foyer area - which are free or surprisingly cheap - I got a magnet for 30 TWD. There were also a costume fitting photobooth and face paint area for kids - all for free! We also got to meet and take photos with the cast after-show. I wish more people get to see and appreciate this!

I don't know much about this troupe, but every actor on stage demonstrated professionalism in their singing, reciting, acting, and martial arts. The saying 'one minute on stage, ten years of practice off stage' was fully embodied. Even when an actor's headpiece fell off during a mid-air somersault, they handled it calmly and expertly. The subtle trembling of the actors' hands and the pauses in their voices precisely matched the characters' emotional states. The martial arts movements (flips, dives, falls, rolls) were clean and sharp, offering both visual appeal and suitability for the characters. My only regret is that there are too few tourists coming to see the opera. I wonder if the promotion isn't adequate; it feels like such a shame. It should be vigorously promoted to let more foreigners understand traditional Southern Fujian opera (today it was Taiwanese opera) or other opera forms. Today, I heard staff say that a new play will be performed next month. I'm actually quite keen to see Peking Opera 😄

If you're with children, I highly recommend it! Even if you don't understand Chinese, there are Korean subtitles on the left. You don't even need to sit on the left to see the subtitles. For the children, we sat in the first row. The time spent looking at subtitles is less than 10 minutes, so you'll be completely engrossed in watching the Peking Opera. Both children and adults were truly satisfied!!!! My child said they wanted to see the Taipei Peking Opera again if we come back to Taiwan!!! The staff are incredibly friendly, and the experience and sights are all perfectly wonderful without a single flaw.

Amazing show! The performance was excellent. There were also options in the lobby to dress up in traditional costumes for picture-taking. After the show, you could also have pictures with some of the performers. Will watch again.
