Belvedere Palace is one of Vienna’s most impressive baroque landmarks and a must visit for anyone interested in art, history, and architecture. The palace complex is divided into the Upper and Lower Belvedere, connected by beautifully landscaped gardens that offer sweeping views and elegant photo opportunities. We spent about three hours exploring both palaces at a comfortable pace. The Upper Belvedere is especially famous for its art collection and is home to some of Austria’s most celebrated works. The highlight not to be missed is Gustav Klimt’s *The Kiss*, along with other important Klimt paintings such as *Judith* and *Adele Bloch Bauer*. The palace interiors themselves are equally impressive, with grand halls, ornate ceilings, and marble staircases. It is highly recommended to purchase tickets in advance, especially during peak seasons. Buying tickets online allow you to skip the queue at the entrance, saving a significant amount of time and making the visit much more pleasant.
While there are many attractions to see in Vienna, Austria, the Upper Belvedere Palace is a must-visit. Its palace gardens and interior alone are impressive. Especially, as the home of the Austrian National Gallery, Belvedere houses an incredible collection of masterpieces. It features many works, including Gustav Klimt's most famous pieces, "The Kiss" and "Judith." I also enjoyed seeing Egon Schiele's "Self-Portrait" and "Lonely Tree," as well as religious paintings from the medieval and Baroque periods, particularly those depicting Mary and saints. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in seeing works by Klimt or Schiele, or those with an interest in medieval and Baroque art.
A beautiful Viennese palace garden with a gallery museum inside, housing the famous painting "The Kiss" and works by different artists across three floors, categorized by historical significance and year. The garden also features Central European design, offering great photo opportunities whether you're looking out from the palace or towards the palace from the garden. Important tip: you must buy tickets in advance. Otherwise, if you buy on the day, there's a high chance you'll only get tickets for 4-5 PM, but Schönbrunn Palace closes at 6 PM. Plus, you'll still have to queue to enter, so if you buy a 4 PM ticket, you might not get in until 4:30 PM.
Worth going, everything is just right: entrance fee, location, art pieces, marble hall, and the garden are beautiful. My husband and son don't have the patience to visit historical sites, so we decided to experience this instead of the famous palace to save money, time, and transportation.
The palace boasts an impressive art collection, showcasing masterpieces from diverse periods and styles. Highlights include Gustav Klimt's renowned "The Kiss," along with works by Egon Schiele, Claude Monet, and Vincent van Gogh. A must-visit spot! (Don't forget to rent the audio guide for an enhanced experience)
We were able to enter smoothly without the hassle of buying tickets on site. However, please be mindful of your reservation time, as you can only enter 5 minutes before your scheduled entry time, to avoid any wasted time. Inside, you can see magnificent buildings and famous paintings.
I do enjoy this tour during my visit in Vienna. Very comfortable and great service for the tour. Thank you 😊 🙏
El palacio y los jardines son muy hermosos. Recomendamos este lugar. Esperamos que terminen pronto las renovaciones.
Those who enjoy art or have studied art history can purchase tickets to visit. Please note that visits require booking a specific time slot, so remember to reserve your tickets in advance. I visited on a Monday, and there were already quite a few people. If you choose to come on a weekend or holiday, the crowd might be even larger, so please be prepared.
