Another gem from Like It Formosa! My guide Julianne is so sweet and even gave me Taiwanese book recommendations (which I followed and loved, by the way!). I love how the tour features specific examples of how rich Di Hua was during its prime; the level of detail Julianne provided throughout the tour is something I don't think I can get anywhere else.

super enjoyed this walking tour! its tiring cause we walked for 3 hours but we really learned a lot and got to enjoy taipei from a different view. our tour guide Minnie is also very nice and understanding :)

Cathy is a knowledgeable and relatable guide. She was able to connect world events with Taiwanese timelines, making the context easy to understand. It was an enjoyable experience. The tour happened to take place in the month when the City God's birthday was being celebrated. If you are interested in architecture and the blend of old and new, this tour is for you.

Last night, I spontaneously booked an afternoon tour on Klook. It was an English-speaking tour. Although I've taken a Chinese tour of Dihua Street before, I wanted to experience the English version. The tour lasted about 2 hours and 45 minutes, and the route was as follows: (Zhongzheng District) Taipei North Gate (Cheng'en Gate) - Taipei Beimen Post Office - (Datong District) Taipei Fazhugong Temple - Tianma Teahouse Site - Yongle Fabric Market - Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple - Dihua Street - Dihua Street Ten-Building Complex There were two tour guides today: Yuan, who has about 100 tours of this route under his belt, and HanWen, who seemed to be a newer guide. The meeting point was Exit 2 of Beimen MRT Station. Both of their English was excellent, and their explanations were very clear and easy to understand. Our group consisted of 7 women: 3 from the Philippines, 2 from France, 1 from the United States, and myself, a local from Taipei, Taiwan. The guides started with a brief introduction to Taiwan's history, then walked to each location, providing historical explanations and engaging us with interactive questions. The content was never dull. The only drawback was that the itinerary was packed, so you had to seize opportunities and time for photos, as we moved on quickly after each explanation. However, I must say that this time, I truly learned a lot more about Taipei's history. It was really worthwhile. Although Klook advertised it as a free tour, we should still be mindful and give a tip. :) The final stop was near Dadaocheng MRT Station, so I took the opportunity to visit Yansan Night Market and buy the famous Wei Xiang Ji Pure Sugar Mochi. Although I rarely come here, the food at Yansan Night Market really suits my taste. 😋 I'll have to come back another day to try the swordfish rice noodles, savory tangyuan, abalone seafood porridge, and more.

I highly recommend this walking tour to anyone planning to visit Taiwan. I learned so much about the country and the business areas built around Taiwan's historic streets. The guides are very helpful and informative. I also encountered a very interactive group of tourists, making it a memorable experience.

I really recommend this tour to everyone visiting Taiwan. The team/guides were amazing and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the history of Taiwan and the city. I absolutely recommend it. I think I had Wallace and another guide whose name I forgot.

We love Taipei! Thank you Klook for the free walking tour on the Golden Age route. We were able to see different stores and the culture of Taipei. We enjoyed walking around so much and tasting the different foods in Taiwan.
