Ryokan Sansuiso is a great! Stayed once as a solo traveler. It felt safe and clean. I had a room with the bathroom. Tatami mats are comfortable and the a/c runs well. Second time, we had hall bathrooms, which are right around the corner. It feels like someone’s home and not hotel. It’s a home and feels like it. We booked 3 rooms for 5 nights. Rooms feel cozy - can’t spread your stuff all over the place. It’s very zen feel. Spotless and housekeeping was attentive. Love the hot water for matcha tea, small snacks, and the Yakuta for each guest. We also tried to get back early to sit in the hot bath/Onsen for tired legs. Recommend if you’re ok with basic services and a nice Japanese experience. No elevator and stair steps are for small feet. So if you have big feet, you may need to side step it to work on your agility. Shopping: grocery store open late, restaurants all around, the shopping center 5 min away has a small Muji and there is a laundry mat and Don Quixote near by. Although the mall has a place called Can-Do that has a variety of DQ items. Very close to Gotanda Station and the walk by the river is a nice stroll after a long day of crowds in major tourist areas. We liked the quiet side of the place. You can hear the trains, but we were so tired it didn’t bother us. It stops late and starts back up around 4;45 am. I never heard it after I fell asleep.

My 18 year old son stayed here for his first ever international trip! Him & 6 friends stayed here however he booked later & had to get his own room so I contacted the hotel and they were fantastic! They put him right beside his groups room so that eased this momma so much! Thank you for being so kind & welcoming to these young travels!

Great place to stay near Shinagawa

Staying here was probably the highlight stop of our trip in Japan. The staff were very helpful and so nice upon checkin. It looked like common areas were cleaned multiple times a day and they have lots of amenities to help with your stay. The rooms were very unique and had that organic Tatami mat smell. The bedding was comfortable and the room was very clean. I would love to stay here again!

Not far from subway station near a river. Next to a little park and family mart. Traditional Japanese room with shared bathrooms and shower, bath. Nice stuff and hot water in the room everyday for tea. Enjoyed our stay!

I absolutely loved my stay here at this place. The location is very convenient- with transportation about a five minute walk away. We also loved how close we were to good local eating spots and bars, but in particular loved how the Family Mart was

Clean room, helpful staff, helped us call a taxi very early in the morning. Quite near to Gotanda station. Many eatery options.

Room was large and comfortable. Shared bath was clean and accessible. Staff were helpful and attentive.

Nice neighborhood, we walked 25 mins from the Shinagawa station to get here and enjoyed the walk after days on planes. Small traditional inn, very kind proprietor, squeaky clean and a taste of traditional Japan in a huge city. Highly recommended!
