Fantastic 5.0
Gorgeous sunny day out for this Mt Rainier National Park trip. The driver, also our guide, was helpful and safely took us to see the highlights of the park, including the waterfalls and Reflection Lakes with still some time for short hikes. We are lucky to see Mt Rainier, still an active volcano covered by snow, clearly on this beautiful day.

Fantastic 5.0
I joined a Klook day tour (the easiest option for solo travelers) to Leavenworth, a German-themed town about a 2-hour drive east of Seattle. On the way, we stopped at Snoqualmie Falls, a very tall waterfall, over 80 meters high. Even from a distance at the observation deck, I could still feel the mist from the falls. Later, on the way out, not long after we started driving, we encountered a herd of wild elk – probably more than I saw last week at Yellowstone National Park! Our guide even stopped the car so we could get out and take pictures, which was incredibly lucky! Leavenworth instantly made me feel like I was in Europe (even though there was a large group of Americans around). Since I couldn't possibly eat a whole pork knuckle by myself, I just ordered some German sausage.

Fantastic 5.0
Driving from Seattle to Vancouver takes about 2 hours, so joining a day tour is really simple and convenient! You can unlock all the highlights in just one day, including Granville Island, Gastown Steam Clock, Canada Place, and Stanley Park. These pretty much cover all the must-see, classic attractions!

What to know before visiting Seattle

What visitors most book and when

Seattle’s top draws are attraction passes, observation decks and guided tours, with passes and skyline experiences leading bookings through the year. Demand peaks around July and dips in February, so summer is when the city feels busiest and more things sell out.

Best activities for families, couples and solo travellers

Families tend to favour zoos & aquariums and attraction passes that bundle multiple kid-friendly stops, making those the easiest options with broad appeal. Couples often choose cruises and observation decks for scenic, relaxed outings and skyline views. Solo travellers and small groups will find tours especially rewarding—the category offers everything from budget-friendly options to higher-end guided experiences.

What travellers should book ahead

What travellers from Global book ahead Most visitors stay flexible in Seattle—typical bookings are made about a day out—but earlier planners often secure tickets around eight days in advance, and that matters most in July when demand peaks. If you’re visiting in peak_months, consider locking in the experiences that matter to you sooner rather than later.

How the main categories compare on price and who they suit

Zoos & aquariums are the easiest, entry-level way into Seattle’s attractions, offering lower median prices and straightforward appeal for families. Observation decks and cruises sit in the mid-range, great for couples and sightseers after memorable views. Tours are the priciest and also the category with the widest spread of options—you’ll find both budget and premium choices there, suiting travellers who want either value or a more curated experience. Attraction passes cluster toward the mid-to-upper range and suit anyone planning to pack several sights into a short visit.
