About

Tung Chung, meaning "eastern stream", is an area on the northwestern coast of Lantau Island, Hong Kong. One of the most recent new towns, it was formerly a rural fishing village beside Tung Chung Bay, and along the delta and lower courses of Tung Chung River and Ma Wan Chung in the north-western coast of Lantau Island. The area was once an important defence stronghold against pirates and foreign military during the Ming and the Qing dynasties. Administratively, Tung Chung is part of Islands District.

We went on a Thursday afternoon (2PM) and there was no line! Everything was seamless since there is separate line for those holding vouchers and crew members were approachable and gave clear instructions. You can scan through your phone for convenience. There is also separate line for crystal cabin and standard cabin. Added tip: You can leave your luggage at Citygate outlet if coming from Tung Chung or you may leave it at left luggage services by NP360 themselves upon arriving at Ngong Ping.

One of the highlights of our Hong Kong trip! We purchased the one way ticket only because we wanted to try the bus going to Tung Chung station. We recommend that you get the round trip cable car ticket because the waiting for the bus is long and tiring. We queued for more than 30 mins. under the scorching hot.

Great experience. Would try the crystal cabin maybe next time. View from this is very great. We got there only 30 mins after their opening time, so there’s not much people around. Meal voucher was handy, too. We got to eat first before going up to the buddha. When we head back to Tung Chung, there’s more people going in than out so we had the cabin all to ourselves.

Cable car is truly a nice experience. It's also just near the station where you get off in Tung Chung.

We took MTR to Tung Chung station and follow the directions to cable car (Ngong Ping 360). We recommend taking the cable car in order to enjoy the beautiful view from the top for 25 minutes. Not to mention that we just need to scan QR code to ride cable car.

I bought this ticket at the gate , and received it immediately and able to skip the ticket queues. please take note that in the event of bad weather, cable car will stop. for our return trip, they stopped the service, and sent all of us in the queue on board a shuttle bus for a 45 mins bus ride to go back to Tung Chung. so even if you paid for a cable car ride, you have no choice at the end but to use a bus... other than this, it was a great experience.

Riding the Ngong Ping 360 cable car is a must-do in Hong Kong. You'll enjoy stunning views of the city and feel completely relaxed during the ride. A tip for Crystal+ riders: Use your return trip to Tung Chung for a final scenic experience before ending your adventure.

We queued up at the scene around 09:10 on 4/13, and boarded the second panoramic carriage at 10:07. It is recommended that everyone queue up early. At 11:40, there was already a long queue at Tung Chung Station, and you may have to wait for up to two hours.
