Things to do in Bay Mau Coconut Forest

A great and fun experience to enjoy Hoi An’s local culture! The boatman was entertaining and friendly, although you should expect to give a small tip at the end. Booking through Klook felt more reliable than random local operators and helped avoid potential scams. A larger group also made the experience more lively and happening, and the whole booking process was fast and reliable.

The tour was amazing, and the boatman was friendly and very accommodating. Booking via Klook made it easy to identify a tour provider without being pressured or anxious about it. We only had to show our voucher, and the tour agency immediately arranged our boat tour.

It was a nice experience going up and down the Marble Mountain. Our guide, Long, gave helpful tips. He was friendly and attentive of our needs. The Coconut Basket Boat ride was so much fun. The Ancient Town was just okay. The dinner we had at Blue Gecko was delicious.

Definitely the highlight of my trip! It was a 4 hour activity and every part of it was well worth it! We started with pickup at an agreed location (mine was Hoi An Post Office) where we met with the cheerful driver, then headed to the local market where we met our beautiful chef, Chef Lee. We roamed around the market where she introduced us to the different local produce, ingredients and how they are used in Vietnamese cooking. From there, we went to the cooking venue which was such a lovely and inviting place! We got to cook 4 different dishes and of course ate them afterward! I was so FULL!!! We then went on a coconot boat tour and tried crab fishing - although I was unsuccessful lol. Overall, this was easily the BEST activity I've had in Vietnam! Chef Lee was very accommodating and patient and helpful all throughout! For the price - it was a such a complete experience! Soooooo worth it!!! Definitely recommend this tour. :)

The instructor was very friendly and bubbly, providing help whenever we needed, never forcing us to do anything we didn’t want to. The food we cooked was extremely delicious, simple and fun to make. The five courses (not including dessert) were simple but paired very well together and I liked that I was able to tweak each dish to my liking (saltiness, spiciness, etc.). The only thing to be careful about is the flambe of the bahn xiao to make it extra crispy as the fire is quite big and the hot oil my spurt but even if you get scared, the instructor takes over for you very quickly and you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. The coconut boats were very fun, with the opportunity to fish for crabs and spin to oppa gangnam style while wearing vietnamese hats. We went to take the latern boat at sunset and the views were breathtaking as you had the sunset on one end and could watch the river start to light up as the sky darkens. Overall, great experience and extremely worth the price!

The afternoon trip to Hoi An for the coconut basket boat ride was absolutely incredible. We were picked up at 3pm and spent the afternoon exploring the coconut forest, learning about the local area and getting to experience the basket boats for ourselves. It was such a fun and memorable experience. Our guide Jin was so lovely! Extremely knowledgeable, kind and welcoming. As a solo traveller, having a guide who makes you feel comfortable and included is so important, and Jin does that so naturally. She made the whole afternoon even more special! It was great to experience a truly relaxing and healing jungle exploration on a quiet river, unlike the crazy basket boats where everyone usually gathers to do Gangnam Style. The wish candles were also a special experience because we got to fold them ourselves, write our wishes, and then carry them to the river, instead of just buying them off the street. Our guide was young and energetic, which made it fun. We received a reservation confirmation from "Big Boss," who turned out to be a really young "Big Boss"! I highly recommend this to young Koreans.

It was so much fun! The lady who rowed our boat sang a chant-like song the whole time. We went down a small river and merged into a larger one, where many other coconut boats were floating around. It was very interesting to see boats with people singing karaoke and others casting fishing nets. This was a unique experience that you can only have here. The lunch was also delicious, and my child even asked for seconds. Our hotel was outside the pick-up area, but they still came to get us. I highly recommend this activity.
