Tottori Sand Dunes is Japan's largest dunes near Tottori City on the Sea of Japan coast. These massive Tottori Dunes pull in over 1.3 million visitors yearly and offer a stunning starting point to explore this undiscovered prefecture. Formed over thousands of years, these dunes were sculpted by sand from the Sendai River, nearby Chugoku mountains, being carried out to sea and then brought back to the heavily wooden northern coast by ocean currents. Today, the ever-changing landscape is continuously shaped by coastal winds and tides, making every visit a unique experience. Hop on a camel for a relaxed ride in the Japanese desert, or take the chairlift to the Sakyu Center's observation deck for a top-notch coastal view. Don't forget to swing by the Tottori Sand Dunes Visitor Center for insights into the geology and ecology of this remarkable spot.

It was my first time in Tottori. I didn't expect to have a sightseeing boat. Although I couldn't speak the language, I could still feel the power of nature. It was also a special experience to take a boat into the culvert.

Easy to use- just show the QR code and they know how to process it. We went on the Uradome Boat tour, went to the Sand Museum, and ate dinner at Takumi Kappo. Great deal!

It was a pity this time. I ordered a small boat activity but was notified on the day that the activity was cancelled due to weather reasons. I felt a little bit of a pity! But in fact, the weather was good that day. It might be because of the heavy wind and rain the day before. The tour boat company did not have a small boat activity for safety reasons and cancelled the small boat activity. In the end, I bought another one on the spot...

We had an amazing time, highly recommend! The staff were all super nice and went out of their way for us. We topped up extra to have dinner served in our room, which was great! We loved the private onsens, beautiful yukatas, and my daughter loved feeding the koi. They also kindly sent us to and from the train station upon arrival and departure. Overall, very very enjoyable stay

The location is very close to JR Tottori Station, and there is its own parking lot next to it. It is free during your stay, with unlimited entry and exit.
