I am glad we chose this Shanghai Huangpu Night River Cruise. There was a hiccup because of the rain but after that, everything went smoothly. We paid for the VIP area when we are in the boat and there were only nine of us including my husband and our two boys so the deck was free and we can really appreciate the whole view, the whole cruise. It was beautiful.

It was my first trip to Shanghai. I booked the combo ticket for the Huangpu River daytime cruise and the Oriental Pearl Tower on the klook platform, and the overall experience was fantastic! The staff were warm and attentive. They contacted us in advance via WhatsApp and gave detailed guidance on ticket collection. The whole process was smooth and hassle-free.

First time in Shanghai and it definitely won’t be my last. Booked the huangpu nite cruise for the 2nd day of our trip and the nite river scene/light up was simply breathtaking. Our guide 小张 was punctual, friendly and explained everything; he even asked about our plans for our trip and gave us advice on where to go/what to do. Would totally recommend this !!

Wonderful experience on the Huangpu River Cruise (Qingjiang Line). The night view of Shanghai was absolutely stunning, especially the skyline of The Bund and Pudong lights. The cruise was relaxing, clean, and well-organized, with plenty of good spots for photos. Staff were accommodating, and the atmosphere was enjoyable from start to finish. A perfect activity for first-time visitors who want to experience the beauty of Shanghai at night.

Amazing experience.I loved my makeup the artist was very talented! I did take my own foundation just an fyi as I didn't want my skin tone to be too light. My favourite thing about the makeup was the lashes because they were individual lashes rather than a single one which meant it looked way more natural! You can choose though. I was very impressed with the hair as well! I initially thought it's all just one big headpiece that they put on but no! The lady put on around 8-10 sections of hair and kept adding more and more and the end result was beautiful. They also were kind to accommodate me for a later photoshoot as I wanted night time photos. Overall would recommend, you will feel like a princess!

First of all, they require you to book in advance at least 2 days before, but my schedule was very tight and asked Klook if they could help me to book 1 day before. Thank you so much for organizing this for me!! ❤️Overall experience was very good and smooth👍🏻, they will help you find the most suitable outfit for you. The lady (I forgot to ask her name) let you try on the qipao and let you decide which you liked the most👍🏻The photographer will teach you how to pose. You will select and collect the photos on the same day which was great! They also gave me a printed photo for free as they said I was the first customer! Thank you😊

What to know before visiting Shanghai

Quick snapshot of Shanghai and what draws visitors

Shanghai sees most bookings for theme parks, tours and observation decks, and demand has clear highs and lows through the year. Peak demand clusters in January while late summer (August–September) is much quieter, so the city swings between busy festival-season energy and calmer months.

When to visit for crowds and prices

According to Klook booking data, January is the peak month for demand and August is the trough. Prices drift through the year: Klook bookings show January typically among the cheapest months for activities while March is usually the priciest, so price and demand don’t move perfectly together. If you want lower prices and smaller crowds, consider visiting in August–September; if you prefer peak-season atmosphere and events, aim for January when demand is highest.

Tips for travellers from the United States

Most travellers from the United States typically book about eight days ahead, with many purchases made up to around 20 days before travel and last-minute options available a day out. For short trips you can be flexible and book a few days ahead, but for peak-month activities in January it helps to plan earlier; use Klook to lock in tickets and tours as your itinerary firms up.
