    Best Family-Friendly Activities in Tokyo

As the bustling capital of Japan and home to numerous wonders and attractions - it's no wonder  Tokyo is a must-visit on any Japan holiday itinerary. Parents, if you’re planning a family trip to Tokyo, we’ve got you covered with a list of fun activities for the whole family, plus handy tips and tricks to make your travels a breeze!

    1. Tokyo Disneyland

Relive your childhood memories and make new ones with the kids with a visit to none other than Tokyo Disneyland. A long-reigning king in capturing the hearts of children (and the young at heart), experience the magic as you set your eyes on Cinderella's iconic castle or meet Buzz Lightyear and Mickey Mouse for the very first time.
Tokyo Disneyland is easily one of the top things to do in Tokyo, with more than 35 fun attractions and rides across 7 themed zones, making it perfect for visitors of all ages. We especially recommend checking out the Beauty & The Beast area, a magical experience found only at Tokyo Disneyland.
This is for parents who want to experience an attraction -- but your kids don't meet the height requirements for any given ride. Rider Switch allows a parent or guardian to take turns to accompany the child and then board the attraction without waiting in line again.

Want to enjoy a ride but your kid doesn’t meet the height requirement?

Rider Switch is perfect for parents who want to enjoy an attraction but have kids who don’t meet the height requirement. Here’s how:
    • When you arrive at the attraction, approach the Cast Member with your whole group and request Rider Switch. Your group will be split into two parties: Party 1 rides first, while Party 2 (up to 3 people) waits.
    • A Cast Member will scan the tickets of Party 2. After Party 1 finishes, Party 2 returns to the designated entrance, gets re-scanned, and can then ride without going through the regular queue. During this time, Party 1 stays with the non-riders.

Other hotel facilities include Slinky Dog Park, a giant game board located in front of the hotel entrance, a Pizza Planet-themed gift shop called Gift Planet selling hotel-exclusive merchandise, and Lotso Garden Cafe, where you can enjoy delicious Toy Story-themed eats.

More Klook Tips for Traveling with Kids in Japan!

    For nursing moms

You can download the Mamapapamap Nursing Room App  to help you to find nursing rooms and baby changing rooms quickly anywhere in Japan. If you can't download the app, head to any departmental store in Japan. These are almost always equipped with fantastic baby facilities and nursing/diaper-changing rooms.

Traveling with a pram or stroller

Avoid traveling during rush hour, strollers may not fit especially on crowded trains or buses. Even in crowded places with narrow lanes like Tsukiji Market can be quite tough to navigate with a stroller. If possible, do consider baby wearing or renting a stroller so you don't have to bring yours out for the whole day.
Do note that not all train stations have elevators, this might be an issue especially if you have prams and luggage in tow. Try to check for wheelchair accessibility on Google Maps to see if there are lifts. And if you are riding the Shinkansen to explore other parts of Japan, you can reserve seats at the ticket machine and choose seats near the open space where you can put strollers (no reservation required).
