Yilan National Center for Traditional Arts
The Yilan National Center for Traditional Arts is a paradise for all art, culture, and literature lovers, and an absolute must-visit attraction in Yilan.
There are three buildings to visit within the park, including Wenchang Temple, the former residence of Huang Zuan-xu (Yilan's first Juren, or successful imperial examination candidate), and Guangxiao Hall. All three have their unique characteristics and represent the local art and culture. Wenchang Temple is regarded by locals as a sanctuary for scholars because the Five Saints of Wenchang enshrined there have long protected them. In addition, its main hall also enshrines deities such as the patriarchs of opera and craftsmanship, who play an extremely important role in the inheritance of Yilan's traditional arts. In addition to the three buildings mentioned above, there are many other attractions to visit in the park.
- May Event Introduction:
On Chuan Yi Avenue, numerous unique handmade stalls will dazzle you, and there are also exciting live performances to watch in the square. If you get tired, why not head to the ferry terminal and take a boat ride to enjoy the beautiful scenery? You can also visit Guangxiao Hall and the former residence of Juren Huang Zuan-xu to learn about Yilan’s family traditions, birth rituals, and folk culture. Within the park, you can even participate in DIY handicraft courses to experience making various crafts, or join a live parade event to ward off evil and bring home good luck.
Limited Edition "Gan Zai Gui" Turtle Charm

The “Gan Zai Gui” turtle symbolizes peace and good fortune. The Center for Traditional Arts has condensed the thousands of pounds of “Gan Zai Gui” into a small, palm-sized healing item. Its appearance replicates the texture of rattan weaving and citrus; the packaging adopts the soulful “fruit box” design, making the act of gifting like sending a box of “all wishes come true” directly from the origin. Whether you are praying for success in exams, career development, or simply hoping for a bit more good luck on your desk, this box of Yilan Traditional Arts specialty is an excellent choice. Sun Wu Kong is a must watch! Kudos to all performers who were very professional. Wasn't expecting much but the show was really funny, interactive and interesting. There were many air conditioned shops with most shops having their own DIY. My kid did Squid game dalgona stick. There are many restaurants inside available for meals too and a bubble tea shop. Prepare to spend half a day there.
Took an easy ride from Luo Dong Bus transfer terminal - Booth 1. Took a snap on the route schedule and they are really on time, be sure not to miss it. Upon arriving, head straight in about a mins walk and turn right to the entrance. Just present your QR code and your journey starts!
lots to see and do there. puppet show at 1030 and 130 (but in minnan language, my kids found boring after a while as they couldn't understand). can easily spend 3-4 hours if you are into doing the DIY activities. the museum staff were super friendly, offering clues to a questionnaire and helping my kids redeem their prizes.
Tickets can be bought on kk day or Klook first. Some are cheaper. There are quite a lot of parking spaces, and some give priority to women and children. In addition, when there are many people, parking will be opened in certain grids on the red line, which is very convenient. It is very convenient to push wheelchairs or strollers in the park. Many barrier-free equipment elevators are very convenient, and drinking fountains and toilets are also everywhere. Every store has some DIY options for you to choose from. Most of them are suitable for ages 3 to 10. There are also quite a few choices for lunch, and they also have Leif, but because there are many people at noon, so You have to wait especially when eating. It is recommended to avoid eating during the noon rush hour. If you are in a hurry, just eat rice balls.

Yilan Chuanyi Park is a great place. There are many "DIY experiences" and "traditional folk skills performances" in the park. This time we had limited time and chose handmade brown sugar cake (a duo who loves eating ghosts). We met a very nice and patient person. Teacher Zhu Huili’s class was full of laughter and fun😆 It was the first time Eun-joo made hand-made brown sugar cake. It looked super delicious. It was paired with a cute little steamer. It was so cute and I loved it so much. 😍😍😍 By the way, the lovely teacher was surprised when she found out that I am 44 years old. 😜 Eun-joo gave it to me A pair of "Oriental Wrap" earrings combine super beautiful traditional craftsmanship with modern creativity and are very light and comfortable to wear. There are many handicraft stores on Luban Street showing various handmade DIY courses on Wenchang Street. Handmade brown sugar cakes, sugar ocarinas, Linshui Street and Jiangnan Riverside scenery. I feel like I can rent cheongsam to take retro photos and cruise to preserve and pass on the traditional art that deeply touches our hearts. The park is very large and it is recommended to come early to have enough time. 👍🏻 Yilan Chuanyi Park 🎋 Management Team: Quanlian Shanmei Culture and Art Foundation Time: 0900-1800 Toll-free number in the park: 0800-020011 Address: ZEN Flower, No. 201, Section 2, Wubin Road, Wujie Township, Yilan County Po Handicraft Inn Chuanyi Hall #oriental wrapping # Yilan Chuanyi Park
Beautiful place for a leisurely stroll or DIY activities such as woodworking, beading, leather crafting, clay crafting etc. If you like doing DIY, be prepared to spend more time here. Things are kind of pricey, but expected since this place is a touristy place. Educational, good facilities; spacious breastfeeding rooms, toilets, etc.
We find it hassle free when purchasing 3 entrance tickets with Klook. Received the tickets within minutes. We just have to show them our ticket pass on the Klook Apps and redeem within seconds. The park is so nice and full with historical buildings and performances. Totally enjoyable and will visit it again
The park is definitely worth visiting. It was a rainy day (typhoon actually) that I went there, and the morning performance at the theater was cancelled due to the flood. Fortunately they’ve managed to perform it in the afternoon, leaving us no regrets. It was truly a feast of culture and art.
