Kaohsiung Departure: Kaohsiung Car Rental with Driver to Qijin/Love River/Liuhe & Ruifeng Night Market

Mr. Su is very friendly and chatty. He gave us a good lesson on history about the entire place while fetching us from places to places. He responds fast on WhatsApp so we need not wait more than 5min before he pick us up from each drop off point. He also helped to prepare a stool in short notice since we had elderly parents travelling with us who can’t really go up onto the high car. However, it will be nicer if the staff or driver can actively contact me way prior to the scheduled time since it kind of adds uncertainty until the day before the tour day. Thanks!

Although the driver was Chinese-speaking, we were able to communicate smoothly using Google Translate. It was a minimal conversation, but sufficient. We first went to the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, and then to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum (an additional NT$500 was charged for the Buddha Museum due to the distance). On the way back, my companion said they wanted to go to the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas again because they hadn't seen the third pagoda. When I told the driver, he looked surprised and said, "Huh? You want to go again?" with a laugh. However, when I showed him a picture of the third pagoda, he happily took us there. Since we had already seen the first and second pagodas, he drove slowly so we could take pictures from the car, and he even rolled down the window so we could take pictures, showing consideration and flexibility in various ways. Even though we didn't speak the same language, we appreciated his pleasant service. Now that I know communication is not a problem with current technology, I would like to use a chartered car again if I have the opportunity.

Ms. Yeh, the driver, is very friendly and proactively contacted us the night before to discuss the next day's itinerary. During the trip, she explained some of Kaohsiung's history, and she's a local Kaohsiung resident! During the New Year, when traffic is heavy at major attractions, she consciously planned and avoided traffic jams as much as possible! The process was smooth and successful (we actually went to Dragon and Tiger Pagodas/Cijin/Kaohsiung Music Center Winter Wonderland).

Driver contacted me via WhatsApp the night before and was on time. A nice 9 seater van was great for our party of 5 pax. Driver followed my own customized itinerary and it’s definitely a god sent as my travelling group consisted of both elderly and children.

This time we chose Route B - 8 hours, and took my mother to experience the attractions in Kaohsiung City - Cijin Old Street, Dragon Tiger Tower, Shoushan Observation Deck. The driver introduced enthusiastically & we went to Dream Mall to escape the heat. The weather in Kaohsiung in June is too hot! Chartering a car is a must, convenient, great, and highly recommended.

Worth it. Especially in this hot weather. Charter service is a must, especially with two elderly people at home. When you don't want to go shopping, you can wait in the car to enjoy the air conditioning and rest. Mr. Qiu's service is very good. We went to many attractions in one day. He also explained the local history.

We love our tour driver. He guide us to the best xiaolongbao for lunch, make easier for our trip to Fo guangshan and Lotus pond ij hot day.

This was a family trip with my parents. We chose the 8-hour free course. Our family requested to visit Moon World, Fo Guang Shan, and Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, and if there was time left, to go to the ferry terminal. Mr. Su guided us with a map upon arrival at each location, explaining the best routes and estimated time needed. He then told us to comfortably explore the attractions and to contact him when we were done, as he would be waiting in the parking lot. Thanks to his kind explanations, we were able to start our sightseeing comfortably. By the time we reached the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, our third stop, it was almost lunchtime. We had requested to go to a nearby restaurant first, and perhaps worried we might get lost, he even guided us to a nearby restaurant. After visiting the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, we had less than an hour remaining, but he still managed to show us Shoushan Love Lookout and Sizihwan Beach on the way to the ferry terminal. My sister and I could speak a little Chinese, and he passionately shared simple travel information with us. We could tell how much he loved this city, and it made us appreciate its charm even more. Since Moon World is outside the city, we paid an additional 800 TWD in cash to the driver. I highly recommend this for those traveling with parents or children. Our family all enjoyed a comfortable trip thanks to this experience.
