What to expect
One boat trip, seven islands. Once exclusive to soldiers, now it's your turn to board.
This is a maritime defense line drawn by artillery fire during the KMT-CCP confrontation. Lieyu, Fuxingyu, Menghuyu, Dadan Island, Erdan Island, Binlangyu, Shiyu—these seven islands guard the outer reaches of Xiamen Port. For over sixty years, only soldiers could go there. Now, the defense line has become a tourist attraction, taking you through the former restricted area.
Board the boat from Jiugong Pier. Pass by Fuxingyu and Menghuyu, two islands that still have troops stationed on them. Land on Dadan Island, 4.4 kilometers from Xiamen. Walk along Shengming Road, and see the psychological warfare wall with “Three Principles of the People Unify China” facing the slogans from the other side for over thirty years. Enter Shenquan Teahouse for a cup of tea, write a limited-edition postcard, and send greetings from the front line.
After the island tour, the boat does not return. Look back at the psychological warfare wall from the sea, and sail towards Erdan Island, which is not open for landing. Circle Binlangyu—an uninhabited island reef where frogmen from both sides alternately planted flags back in the day. Pass by Shiyu—the smallest outpost of the ROC military. Cross the military demarcation line, with Xiamen's high-rises on the left and Lieyu's bunkers on the right. The same sea, two worlds. Finally, pass under the magnificent Kinmen Bridge.
4.5 hours, seven islands, one line, one city, one bridge. This is Kinmen's strongest battlefield tour

Reviews
Super happy! I had originally booked a trip to Dadan Island for February 7th. On February 6th, before boarding the plane, I received a call from the travel agency saying that the waves would be too high on February 7th and 8th, so the trip was canceled and needed to be changed to February 6th. After picking up our luggage around 12 pm on February 6th, the B&B owner took us to Jiugong Wharf and we successfully boarded the island.
Arrive at the waiting room inside the pier on time and wait for your name to be called for ID check before boarding. The tour guide's explanations were lively and interesting. The boat will first circle Erdan Island before heading to Dadan Island for landing. If you want to buy a souvenir shirt, do it early, otherwise, your size might be sold out. Overall, the trip was great and highly recommended.
The reception staff provided good service👍. The tour guide's explanation was very interesting and exciting👍! When traveling to Kinmen, I especially recommend that you must participate in the "Dadan Island Half-Day Tour" which is an excellent itinerary👍, which will lead you to have an in-depth understanding of the process and touching stories of the Battle of Daer at that time! During the tour, the organizer also prepared snacks and tea, which is a highly recommended itinerary worth experiencing👍
It is rare to have the opportunity to visit important military sites. There are still national troops stationed on Bold Island. There are many stories on the island, which makes people admire the national troops who used to defend it. It is worth visiting for everyone. From here you can also overlook Xiamen and feel the atmosphere of the battlefield. However, the island is very hot in summer, so those who want to come here must consider the weather.
The only way to access the island is via guided tour. The tour includes commentary (everyone wears headphones to listen to the guide), refreshments (one serving per person), and a small bus to navigate some sections of the island. This makes exploring much easier.
Take on the challenge and visit a remote island where you're not alone. Explore the front lines of a past conflict, not only conquering a new destination but also paying respects to the brave soldiers who fought here.
The tour guide provided detailed explanations and was very considerate, even providing short car rides along the way to help us avoid the heat. There were also tea, snacks, and drinks at the end, and we could even take leftovers with us. I learned a lot on this trip, it was fantastic!
As a history buff, I have always been curious about Bold Island. Through Klook’s half-day tour, I finally had the opportunity to see it. The island has a strong battlefield atmosphere, and relics from the past can be seen everywhere. With the tour guide's explanation, it feels like walking into a time tunnel. I am also very satisfied with the comfort of the yacht. It is a trip that can relax my body and mind and increase my knowledge. Give it a five-star rating!
The pace of the trip was very well controlled, the tour leader explained very carefully and professionally, and I had the best experience. Thank you very much.
"If you're brave, go for it!" This tour is worth taking to experience life on the front lines back then. Originally, there was a lot of walking involved, but this time a minibus was arranged for transportation, allowing even older groups to participate with peace of mind. The refreshments at the rest stop in the middle were also very good. One suggestion would be to improve seat guidance on the boat. Initially, we didn't know there were still seats available at the front of the cabin, so many people sat outside the cabin and got soaked by the waves. Hopefully, the boat staff can assist passengers in finding a seat.
