Great aquarium with lots of dolphins, 2 belugas and an orca, which is not easily seen elsewhere. Good value for money for families with children who love animals. Lots of interesting information which you can use Google Translate as some of the information are in Japanese only.

We happened to visit during a Japanese long weekend, so the zoo was incredibly crowded... it was a bit overwhelming, and combined with the hot weather, it was tough at first. However, we saw many animals we'd never seen before. Even though it was hot, we were lucky to catch the summer event, so the zoo was open until 8 PM, which made it quite worthwhile. The staff who lent us a wheelchair were very friendly, and it was free! We got to see all the animals we wanted, but it felt really strange to see polar bears in such hot weather!

Easily book your tickets with Klook and enter without waiting. Nagoya Castle has a completely different feel from Osaka Castle. Above all, I loved the scent of wood inside the building, and the elaborate patterns and paintings in each room were impressive. The staff were also very kind, which made the visit enjoyable. If you're visiting Nagoya, you should definitely go to Nagoya Castle. Klook states that the adult admission fee will increase from 500 yen to 1,000 yen starting October 1st.

A bird eye's view of Nagoya, especially area around the Nagoya Station and even Nagoya Castle. On days of good visibility, you can see a mountain or a few. I can see Mt. Ibuki during sunset. Visit on weekday for cheaper entry. Redemption is easy as the staff is readily available to help. Depending on your pace and interest, you can spend 10mins or even 2 hours here. There are seats around, drink vending machines and it is semi outdoor. My discomfort is the bbq smoke and smell from the open air restaurant.

Our experience with VASARA Kimono Rental in Nagoya was exceptional. While this location had fewer yukata choices than I expected, the staff more than made up for it with their kindness, enthusiasm, and genuine care.
I hoped to wear a red yukata to match my wife’s, but none were available. The staff went above and beyond, searching through unopened boxes until they found a maroon yukata with dragon designs. They paired it with a blue obi featuring a water pattern.
They also dressed my wife and daughter beautifully, and transformed my son into a young samurai. Seeing our whole family dressed together was a highlight of our trip.
Walking through Nagoya and visiting Nagoya Castle in yukata felt immersive and special. We received many friendly compliments and interactions along the way.
The VASARA team didn’t just rent us clothing, they created a wonderful family memory we will cherish for years.

This is my third time eating here. The first two times were at the Osaka location, and this time I tried Nagoya. The menu has some slight differences; Osaka's draft beer offers both red and white options, while Nagoya only has one kind, but both are delicious. The Emperor's Menu booked online is different from the in-store menu, and the foreign language menu also differs slightly from the Japanese menu, so it depends on individual preference. This time, the Emperor's Menu ordered online included a super large, live abalone grilled fresh. We weren't sure how to grill it, and the staff were very thoughtful, helping us grill and even cut it – highly recommended! We were a bit surprised when rice and miso soup were served in the middle of the meal. The Chateaubriand steak wasn't as good as other wagyu I've had, but the beef tongue was excellent. Finally, Japanese sausages were served, which was quite unique; they taste much better when grilled until well-done. By this point, you're likely full, so if you order a set meal, there's no need to order anything extra. The price for ordering à la carte is similar to ordering a set meal, but the set meal will fill you up completely, whereas with à la carte, cheaper sashimi might be a hit or miss.

Nobunaga-Bei: A Symbol of Victory
When you visit Atsuta Jingu, you have to see the Nobunaga-Bei, the oldest stone wall in Nagoya. It's more than just a wall; it's a piece of history.
