Things to do in Gaomei Wetlands

Mr. York (not yolk the egg) is the best guide ever! Mr. York has a lot of stories about all the places and good recommendations. The tour is good and you can see many places. For late june to early july make sure to bring umbrellas and hats, it is very hot.

We had an amazing time on the Gaomei Wetlands, Miyahara Eye Clinic (to get ice cream), Rainbow Village, Taichung NationalTheater & ZhongShe Flower Market Tour with our guide, Jeannie! Lunch was a pleasant surprise. We only paid 120 NTD, and it turned out to be surprisingly delicious — great value for the price. Jeannie made sure everything ran smoothly and gave us enough time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the scenery. She was also kind enough to help us find our way to our booked hotel in Taichung city center, as we chose to stay the night instead of going back to Taipei with the group.

Worth the price compare if DIY since Taichung is quite far from Taipei. Was able to visit all places included in the itinerary even though it rains in the first part which is the flower farm.

The trip was very chill. We were able to maximize the time per destination with the help of out tour guide, Joseph. He assists us also to various recommended stores and places. Very accommodating and recommended! :)

Our family was very lucky on this trip in Taichung. We met the great driver and tour guide Da Luo (car number RCQ-7559)! This time we went to Sun Moon Lake and Gaomei Wetland. Da Luo's explanation along the way was very vivid and interesting. He shared a lot of local historical stories and trivia, which made us want more. He was also very good at taking pictures for our family. Every picture was super beautiful. He was simply a hidden photographer 📸! The most thoughtful thing was that he also treated us to the famous Ah Ma tea eggs in Sun Moon Lake. It was so touching! The overall experience was really great. I highly recommend friends who need to charter a car or guide to find him. Da Luo is super nice and professional. It is one of the warmest memories of our trip!
