Fantastic 5.0
Great tour lead Xiao Wu 小伍. Super attentive. Allocated sufficient time for each tourist site and lunch. Guided the museum tour with depth. Recommended small group tour for all visiting Changsha. Not to be missed.

Fantastic 5.0
This was an eye opener and for anyone mildly interested in the history of China a "Must Do". It's estimated that 8 million people visit this site every year and the reverence in which many Chinese people hold Mao is obvious. During our visit there were hundreds of Chinese in groups paying tribute to his memory; laying wreaths and bunches of flowers at the foot of a giant statue; bowing in respect; chanting slogans or singing revolutionary songs. Our guide, Kathy, who was born in the same town as Mao, was a font of knowledge. A visit is well worthwhile if your interest extends beyond pandas and the usual tourist traps and you would like a better understanding what makes modern day China tick.

Perfectly planned Hunan family trip — thanks to Sally & Tracy! Sally handled all pre-trip planning seamlessly — every booking was in order and communication was clear. It gave us real confidence before we even landed. Tracy, our English-speaking guide, was wonderful. She executed the itinerary with precision and a great eye for detail, but her personal touch was what made the trip special. Our daughter grew so comfortable with her she was practically inseparable from Tracy by the end! Tracy also timed our visits brilliantly to avoid the crowds — we had the glass bridge almost entirely to ourselves. That kind of thoughtful planning makes all the difference when travelling with kids. Highly recommended — you're in great hands! We'll definitely be back — as long as Tracy is our guide! 🙂

tour guide: My tour guide (Mr Peng) was 100% on the ball from the start, he looked out for everyone of us before during n even after the tour. He warn us of some unnecessarily spending money. whenever we need more food, he will help us order. knowledge of the tour guide was top notch accomodation options: hotel is well booked n planned itinerary: everything was space out well

The guide 小橙子 was very conscientious and passionate in doing her job even though it was really challenging for one guide to be leading so many different groups. She was cheerful and knowledgeable and was skilful in managing expectations and knew her way around the various attractions very well. The first transfer from the airport was no good because the four of us with a few large pieces of luggage were assigned a normal saloon car which resulted in four of us having to squeeze at the back row behind the driver. The last two hotels were especially good and served good breakfast! Overall strongly recommended!

Great 4.0
Our 5-day family trip to Zhangjiajie was truly unforgettable, thanks to our fantastic local guide, Ms. Xiao Hu (小胡), who was not only responsive and helpful but also incredibly friendly and caring throughout. Though the rain prevented us from enjoying Tianmen Mountain and Phoenix Ancient City, we still marveled at the wonders of Zhangjiajie National Park. One of the highlights was staying at The Valley Secret Realm Resort Hotel, where we enjoyed breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. Overall, it was a wonderful and enjoyable journey for our family. We highly recommend both this tour and the exceptional Ms. Xiao Hu to anyone looking to explore Zhangjiajie

Fantastic 5.0
Fantastic tour, Yaya was a very nice guide. Well spoken, considerate and make sure we were well taken care of throughout the tour. It was a very fast paced tour, cover so many scenic areas that we wouldn’t have been able to do on our own. Highly recommended for people who wanted to get the most out of a very tight schedule. Accommodation provided were good but not in the most convenient locations. Food included was very good. Just like any other tours, there were additional fees.

What to know before visiting Changsha

A snapshot of Changsha City’s top experiences

Changsha City’s most-booked activities are Tours, followed by Attraction passes and Museums, and demand follows a strong annual rhythm with a huge peak in October and a quiet trough in July. Expect interest to build through spring, dip in mid-summer, then surge sharply in October when most travellers visit.

Best activities by traveller type

Families will find Attraction passes and Playgrounds appealing — these offer easy, child-friendly ways to see multiple sites and unwind between sightseeing. Couples often choose Tours and Cruises for a mix of guided discovery and relaxed, scenic moments together. Solo travellers and small groups can enjoy Museums and shorter Tours for flexible, budget-friendly options that are easy to add into a loose itinerary.

What travellers from Singapore should book ahead

Most travellers from Singapore tend to plan about a week ahead on average, with the earliest planners booking around two weeks out; booking in advance matters most for travel in October, when demand peaks. For typical visits you can retain some flexibility — many options remain bookable a few days before — but secure popular Tours and Attraction passes earlier if you travel during the October surge.

How the categories compare on price and who they suit

Museums are the easiest, most affordable entry point and sit at the low end of the price range, suited to budget-conscious travellers and culture seekers. Attraction passes offer mid-range value and convenience for families and visitors who want to see several sites without fuss. Tours show the widest range and reach the highest price points, making them the most varied choice — from budget group excursions to premium private experiences — while Cruises and Playgrounds sit nearer the mid-range and appeal to travellers after scenic relaxation or family-friendly fun.
