Great tour lead Xiao Wu 小伍. Super attentive. Allocated sufficient time for each tourist site and lunch. Guided the museum tour with depth. Recommended small group tour for all visiting Changsha. Not to be missed.

This was an eye opener and for anyone mildly interested in the history of China a "Must Do". It's estimated that 8 million people visit this site every year and the reverence in which many Chinese people hold Mao is obvious. During our visit there were hundreds of Chinese in groups paying tribute to his memory; laying wreaths and bunches of flowers at the foot of a giant statue; bowing in respect; chanting slogans or singing revolutionary songs. Our guide, Kathy, who was born in the same town as Mao, was a font of knowledge. A visit is well worthwhile if your interest extends beyond pandas and the usual tourist traps and you would like a better understanding what makes modern day China tick.

I booked a guided tour of the Changsha Museum through Klook this time, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The day before the tour, the local contact proactively reached out to confirm the itinerary, which was very thoughtful. Upon arrival, our guide, A-Cheng, was an even bigger surprise—professional yet engaging. He narrated Changsha's history like a story, connecting artifacts from the daily life of the Han Dynasty's Changsha Kingdom to the romantic poetry of Tang Dynasty kilns. He excelled at weaving the artifacts into a compelling narrative. He didn't just explain 'what' the artifacts were; he also guided us to observe intricate details in the patterns and the colors of kiln glazes, answering many questions. Previously, when visiting museums, I mostly just glanced at things without much depth. But with the guide's explanations, my perception was completely transformed. I used to think artifacts were distant from us, but the guide's explanations brought them closer. If you're planning a trip to the Changsha Museum, I highly recommend joining a guided tour. If you're lucky enough to get A-Cheng's tour, don't miss it! He helps you see not just artifacts, but the vibrant history of Changsha.

The day trip was fantastic! The places we visited and the meal we had on a downtown street were amazing. Our tour guide, Miss Xiao Shu, provided excellent guidance and advice throughout the entire trip. Well done! This day trip was wonderful! The attractions we visited and the delicious food we enjoyed on the downtown street were unforgettable. Our tour guide, Miss Xiao Su, provided very professional explanations and thoughtful suggestions throughout the entire journey. Her service was outstanding and deserves praise!

Perfectly planned Hunan family trip — thanks to Sally & Tracy! Sally handled all pre-trip planning seamlessly — every booking was in order and communication was clear. It gave us real confidence before we even landed. Tracy, our English-speaking guide, was wonderful. She executed the itinerary with precision and a great eye for detail, but her personal touch was what made the trip special. Our daughter grew so comfortable with her she was practically inseparable from Tracy by the end! Tracy also timed our visits brilliantly to avoid the crowds — we had the glass bridge almost entirely to ourselves. That kind of thoughtful planning makes all the difference when travelling with kids. Highly recommended — you're in great hands! We'll definitely be back — as long as Tracy is our guide! 🙂

tour guide: My tour guide (Mr Peng) was 100% on the ball from the start, he looked out for everyone of us before during n even after the tour. He warn us of some unnecessarily spending money. whenever we need more food, he will help us order. knowledge of the tour guide was top notch accomodation options: hotel is well booked n planned itinerary: everything was space out well

The guide 小橙子 was very conscientious and passionate in doing her job even though it was really challenging for one guide to be leading so many different groups. She was cheerful and knowledgeable and was skilful in managing expectations and knew her way around the various attractions very well. The first transfer from the airport was no good because the four of us with a few large pieces of luggage were assigned a normal saloon car which resulted in four of us having to squeeze at the back row behind the driver. The last two hotels were especially good and served good breakfast! Overall strongly recommended!

Great 4.0
Our 5-day family trip to Zhangjiajie was truly unforgettable, thanks to our fantastic local guide, Ms. Xiao Hu (小胡), who was not only responsive and helpful but also incredibly friendly and caring throughout. Though the rain prevented us from enjoying Tianmen Mountain and Phoenix Ancient City, we still marveled at the wonders of Zhangjiajie National Park. One of the highlights was staying at The Valley Secret Realm Resort Hotel, where we enjoyed breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. Overall, it was a wonderful and enjoyable journey for our family. We highly recommend both this tour and the exceptional Ms. Xiao Hu to anyone looking to explore Zhangjiajie

Fantastic tour, Yaya was a very nice guide. Well spoken, considerate and make sure we were well taken care of throughout the tour. It was a very fast paced tour, cover so many scenic areas that we wouldn’t have been able to do on our own. Highly recommended for people who wanted to get the most out of a very tight schedule. Accommodation provided were good but not in the most convenient locations. Food included was very good. Just like any other tours, there were additional fees.

What to know before visiting Changsha

Overview of Changsha City and what to expect

Changsha City attracts a mix of travellers drawn to tours, attraction passes and museums, with playgrounds and short cruises also featuring in bookings. Demand on Klook swings through the year, with a sharp spring peak and much lower interest in late summer and early autumn.

When to visit for crowds, prices and atmosphere

Klook booking data shows demand peaks in April and drops to a low in August, so April delivers the busiest atmosphere while August and September are noticeably quieter. Prices, however, move differently: past Klook prices were highest in September and typically lowest around April—so the busiest month is not the most expensive. If you want smaller crowds and lower on-platform prices, travelling in April or May can work well; for peak-season energy choose April when demand is highest. Note the price and demand divergence around September–April, where September can be pricier despite lower demand than April.

Tips for travellers from Singapore

Most travellers book roughly a week ahead, with many last-minute bookings possible within a few days—so short-notice plans can still work for Changsha. If you plan to travel in April (the busiest month), consider booking key experiences earlier, while quieter months make spontaneous booking easier. Use Klook to lock in tours and attraction passes once your dates are set to secure popular options.
