Great 4.0
Convenient Transportation: It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the train station to the hotel, which is a walkable distance. Breakfast: Perhaps because the hotel can accommodate many guests, the restaurant has two separate areas with identical food selections, making it convenient for guests. The variety of food is similar to what you'd find in typical three- or four-star hotels in Europe. Cleanliness: The room's cleanliness was acceptable. The bathroom was a bit small, but it clearly looked recently renovated and very clean. I'm not sure if the room had air conditioning, as I couldn't find a switch or remote. However, during my two-night stay, perhaps because the evening temperatures in the UK are still a bit cool, the room never felt stuffy.

Great 4.0
Clean & tidy hotel in a great location. Rooms a little dated, but reception undergoing a revamp. Breakfast good, but really busy at peak times.

Great 4.0
12 minute walk from King’s Cross station although it felt like a lifetime in this heatwave. Hotel doesn’t have air conditioning but they did provide a fan. Breakfast was ok, but no fried eggs but a ton of scrambled instead. Sausages weren’t the best and stay away from the orange juice, very weak. Apple juice was good though.

Fantastic 5.0
Although the lights weren't working upon check-in, the maintenance department followed up very quickly. Later, the circuit breaker tripped, which I believe is a local UK power load issue. Overall, the air conditioning was sufficient, it was clean, there was no musty smell, and the staff were proactive and enthusiastic.

More about London hotels

Quick view: what staying in London looks like

Staying in London spans a wide price range — roughly five times between the most affordable economy options and the top luxury tier — so your budget really shapes the experience. The best balance for most travellers tends to be the premium tier, which sits squarely between economy and luxury and typically gives the strongest value for money.

How the four hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy properties sit at the bottom end and are the most budget-friendly choice, suitable for travellers prioritising cost over extras. Standard rooms step up from economy with moderate price increases and suit those wanting a little more comfort without a big jump in spend. The premium tier is the sweet spot and represents the best value; expect noticeably better quality and comfort here compared with standard. The biggest decision point is the jump from premium to luxury — that leap is the largest, moving you into a markedly higher price bracket aimed at travellers seeking top-tier amenities and willing to pay substantially more.

When travellers from Singapore typically book

Singapore travellers will find the priciest nightly rates in December and the cheapest in February; a budget-led trip fits best around February when rates are lower. Rooms are often booked about a month in advance on average, and that tendency to secure accommodation ahead is stronger in the priciest month.
