Reviews
The kimono rental is very clean and organize, they make me pick kimono, belt and accessories. They try to talk to me by sign language because I don't speak Japanese and they don't speak English but they are great at what they do, 1 person did my hair, after that I got pass on another lady to put on my kimono. thank you for letting me experience the Japanese outfit.
The experience of wearing a kimono made me feel the profound heritage of Japanese culture. Each kimono has a unique pattern and color, which makes me feel like I am in traditional Japan. With the help of a professional hairstylist, my hairstyle has become more elegant, matching the style of the kimono, making the whole look more charming. During the process, the designer patiently introduced every detail, which gave me a deeper understanding of kimono dressing and hairstyle. This experience not only increased my confidence, but also gave me a deeper understanding of Japanese traditional culture.
A recommendable experience. Make sure everything you receive is in perfect condition, because if you stain it, you pay for it. It's better to rent early, so you can calmly explore the temple and the traditional streets.
For my first kimono experience, I chose the Taisho Roman Kimono series, while my family members went with regular kimonos. I learned during this experience that Taisho Roman kimonos are a fusion of Western and traditional styles, incorporating a lot of lace! The staff was very friendly, and there were plenty of clothing and accessory options without any extra charge. Although the rainy weather put a slight damper on the experience, I was still able to get some great photos to share! The kimono dressing specialists inside were also very professional, and the obi (sash) knots they tied were absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to visit other locations to try out different styles next time!
The dress-up took about 40 to 50 minutes. There were nearly 10 different colors of lace kimonos to choose from, including white, pink, purple, and blue. The hairstyle was very nice.
The counter staff can speak Chinese, and you can choose clothes right away when you enter. They are all served by local Japanese aunties who will also provide advice on suitable clothes for you. The aunties who help you get dressed are also very professional. I feel that the Japanese really have their own standards for doing things. The hair service is also very professional! Although all service staff except the counter staff are Japanese and there might be language barriers, it is still possible to use gestures! !
The whole experience was amazing! Truly felt honored to be able to wear a kimono. The entire staff were lovely, and all the ladies that helped my husband and I get dressed were so kind. We wanted to wear the kimonos all day, but seeing as we went during a cold season, it was too cold for us, haha! We could only handle 3 hours at most! That’s to our fault though and not theirs! I highly recommend renting from this lovely place! Would do this again, 1000%!
It's such a good deal. I bought the same price in a popular online store in Arashiyama, Kyoto. The texture was very poor and the collar was not fixed. This time, I felt that the teacher who helped me put on the hakama was very meticulous. My kimono was put on at 10:00 and it was not messy or shifted until 4:00 in the afternoon. It was very stable! It looks so good! My hair was also done well. I looked at the photos taken by my friends and found that the hairstyle at the back actually covered the hairline! The braiding is really beautiful! ! The Taiwanese sister who speaks Chinese in the store is super enthusiastic and took a lot of photos for us! She also chatted with us~ It’s great to be able to experience the graduation hakama after graduating from university this year! I will come back for other choices next time!
Renting a kimono here was honestly one of the highlights of our Japan trip. The staff were incredibly kind and patient, helped us choose the perfect kimono, and made the whole process smooth and fun. The quality was beautiful, fit perfectly, and walking around Asakusa felt like stepping into a postcard. Highly recommend if you want an unforgettable, authentic Japan experience 🇯🇵✨
location is near and walking distance to the famous temple however I felt the range of kimonos are quite limited and more could be done to explain which range are for top-ups etc. basic hairstyling was done and accessories given.
