I highly recommend Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu, a hidden gem nestled in the mountains. Although I only stayed for one night, its high-quality service and facilities perfectly embody a luxurious Japanese healing retreat. Each room features a private open-air hot spring, offering exceptional privacy as you soak in the warm waters while gazing at Hakone's lush green valleys, allowing you to forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel's "Ukigumo no Yu" (Floating Cloud Bath) is also a must-experience; bathing there feels like becoming one with the boundless mountain and sky. The attentive Japanese hospitality from the staff is truly exceptional. The premium ambiance and ultimate relaxation here definitely make it a must-stay on your list for a trip near Tokyo!

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. One of the highlights was the private onsen… I booked the 9 PM slot and enjoyed a relaxing soak in complete privacy. I also met some Indonesian staff members who were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even more memorable.

amazing hotel with spacious rooms and great views. the hotel staff was always friendly and the onsen as well as the sauna was truly magnificent. also, the breakfast and dinner has a huge selection of Japanese and international food.

loved everything. room was nice and spacious. having a private onsen was great. dinner was awesome. the public onsen was also really nice. there is a drink bar and other hotel amenities was great.

We had a superb stay at this Ryokan. Kanda-san and the team were fantastic and very accommodating to all of our requests. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious, the views were amazing. Highly recommend for couples looking for a Hakone getaway!

Excellent experience. The staff was incredibly patient with our group and attentive to our needs. The rooms were clean and spacious for 2. Bedding was super comfortable and the onsens were amazing! Dinner and Japanese style breakfast were delicious and generous portions. Outstanding relaxing experience.

The dinner included with the one-night, two-meal plan was incredibly generous, and all drinks, including alcoholic beverages, were complimentary and unlimited. The private onsen in the room had high ceilings, adding to its luxurious feel. Overall, it offered excellent value for money.
