What to know before visiting Hoi An
Quick snapshot of Hoi An’s travel vibe
Hoi An draws most bookings for cruises, theme-park style outings, guided tours and cultural experiences, with a steady flow to historical-site visits too. Demand climbs and falls through the year, peaking in July and dropping to its lowest in December, so the city alternates between busy summer months and quieter pockets later in the year.
When to visit for crowds and prices
According to Klook booking data, July is the busiest month while December sees the lightest demand. Prices are fairly stable across many months, but Klook data shows November tending to be the priciest and July typically among the cheapest — roughly 17% lower than November on past bookings. For lower prices and smaller crowds, travel in the quieter late-year months; for the peak-season atmosphere and the fullest event calendar, aim for July. Note that demand and prices diverge somewhat here: July is busiest yet not the most expensive month, while November has higher prices even though demand is not at its peak.
Tips for travellers from the Philippines
Most travellers from the Philippines typically book about four days ahead, so Hoi An is flexible enough for a short planning window but worth locking in key activities around two weeks early if you want more certainty. Use Klook to compare cultural tours, cruises and family-friendly options and grab popular slots a few days in advance during July when the city is busiest.
