Sapporo
The fifth-largest city in Japan, Sapporo has just about everything you would want in a big city: shopping, delicious food, and bustling nightlife, among many others. And though many are in Sapporo for only a day or two as they make their way to Hokkaido, we recommend staying a bit longer for the local experiences if you can spare the time! Some must-visit attractions in the city include the Sapporo TV Tower, the Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, and Susukino for those wanting to experience the local nightlife scene. Sapporo is typically at its busiest during February when visitors flock to the city to partake in the Snow Festival and in the summertime to feast on beer and delicious eats at the food festivals.

We had an incredible photoshoot experience with Saito-san and are so happy with how everything turned out. From the very beginning, he made us feel completely comfortable and at ease.
What we loved most was how natural the entire session felt. Nothing was stiff or overly directed—he allowed us to move, laugh, walk, and simply be ourselves as a family. Because of that, the photos captured genuine moments filled with joy, warmth, and connection.
Our kids enjoyed the experience so much, and everything flowed effortlessly. The photos reflect real emotions and beautiful memories that we will treasure for a long time.
We highly recommend Holiday Travel and Saito-san to families looking for candid, authentic, and heartfelt photos. This was truly a special experience.

Such a lovely wagashi class. Beautiful craftsmanship and a very peaceful atmosphere. The host was warm, friendly, and very helpful throughout the session. Making wagashi by hand really makes you appreciate the artistry behind each piece. Highly recommend if you’re curious about Japanese culture and traditional sweets.

This tour was absolutely worth it! We visited Ninggale Terrace, Biei Christmas Tree, Shirahige Falls, and the stunning Blue Pond at night—each stop felt magical in its own way. The highlight for me was Shikisai no Oka in winter. Snowmobiling there is a must-experience—pure adrenaline and so much fun surrounded by endless snow!
Special shoutout to our tour guide Serina 🌟 She was not only kind and friendly, but also very attentive and thoughtful throughout the trip. She made sure everyone was comfortable, explained each destination clearly, and kept the atmosphere warm and enjoyable despite the cold weather. Her calm, cheerful energy really added to the overall experience and made the tour feel smooth and well-organized.

Mila is a fantastic tour guide with so many great food recommendations. I had a lot of fun on this tour. Infact a day prior to the tour I had an unpleasant snow mobile raft experience at Tsudome so I had already made up my mind to pull out from the snow mobile experience. Mila convinced me that I would enjoy it and reassured there was a helmet visor to protect your eyes from the snow which is the main reason I didn’t want to participate. I’m so glad I listened to Mila because I had great time on the snow mobile and the helmet visor did protect my eyes. I’d recommend this experience and leave this one tip - carry lots of cash as there is no atm at any of the places you’ll be visiting

The staff enthusiastically waved goodbye as we boarded the ship. Watching the sunset from the Monbetsu icebreaker was beautiful! After the ship departs, the bow opens for passengers to walk clockwise. Staff also kindly remind people to move forward so that others can take pictures of the ice-breaking auger mechanism! Fun! Next stop was the Sounkyo Icefall Festival, which is only available seasonally! The tour guide said it's a huge project where staff spray water to freeze it, taking two months! It's really beautiful! Although it's far and we got back to the hotel late, it was worth coming to see!

For my first visit to Hokkaido, I chose the romantic and lively month of February to personally participate in the long-awaited Snow Festival. The whole atmosphere was just too dreamy! For a few days of the trip, I signed up for day tours, and the overall experience was excellent. The itinerary was well-planned, not rushed or tiring, and each attraction was thoughtfully allocated ample time, allowing everyone to take photos and stroll at their own pace.
I was especially lucky today. The weather was great in the morning, and the tour guide specially arranged to visit Mount Yotei and Mount Usu in the morning. The sunshine paired with the snow scenery was unbelievably beautiful; every photo looked like a postcard 📸. The snowmobile is also definitely worth a try – exciting and fun, highly recommended!
I am truly grateful for our guide Andy's attentive care and professional leadership. Not only is he fluent in three languages, allowing my Singaporean boyfriend to fully understand the itinerary, but he also constantly checked if everyone was hungry or needed to go to the bathroom. He managed the pace perfectly, without ever rushing us, allowing us to relax and enjoy the journey.
In addition, Andy also shared many Hokkaido food recommendations and a list of must-buy souvenirs, which was incredibly useful 👍🏻. This trip to Hokkaido has truly left me with wonderful memories 🤗.

the trip was real fun and wonderful. our guide was very nice and helpful. He gave very clear instructions and enough information about where we were going and what we were going to do next. I really enjoyed it and recommend this trip to everyone who has a short trip to Hokkaido but wanted to explore the big island. You can visit almost everywhere in a far side of Hokkaido in one day without renting a car.
