This is a must do activity when visiting Sapporo. We went around late afternoon and waited from sunset until the city gets dark. Lots of souvenir on the second floor and the view from from both day and night time are beautiful.
Great experience. the line going up to the tower during 2026 winter festival was moving, waiting time was not that long. but riding the elevator to the viewing deck, you cannot see much of ODORI park as you go up because its blocked by the yellow metal frame and cables of the elevator. when you get up to the top, the only good thing to see was the odori park itself, the other sides are not that good for taking pictures. but for the price of admission, this was worth it.
you can easily enter just by showing the qr code to the staff. sapporo tv tower observatory is small compared to other towers like tokyo tower and fukuoka tower but the view at the top seeing the odori park is awesome!
you can’t get into the venue with the voucher. need to queue up to exchange for the physical ticket. if you want to see the sunset, pls queue up as early as 330pm as Sunset will start at 4pm. And the view up was indeed spectacular!
value for money, i recommend you come at 5pm onward to see the daytime and twilight view of sapporo skyline including the odori park where the tower is located plus less crowd already at this time. highly recommended.
I am fond of cityscapes and buildings that are seen above, and it gives a birds eye view of how Sapporo looks like at a high altitude. Quite fun to see the buildings in the center of Sapporo. We even took photos at a booth at the observation deck and print the photos from there. Sapporo TV Tower is RECOMMENDED!
Visited Sapporo TV Tower during my trip in February, and it was a fantastic experience! The observation deck offers stunning panoramic views of the city, especially of Odori Park covered in snow. If you visit during the Sapporo Snow Festival, you’ll get a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the ice and snow sculptures!
12/31 It was a fun time to wrap up the year. I especially recommend the sticker photo machine. You can also shoot videos, which was amazing. If you take the elevator to the 3rd floor, you can buy an observatory ticket, and from there, you can go up to the top observatory. The advantage is that it is an observatory with a great view of the entire Odori Park. So the night is nice, but if you have to choose, the daytime view is better. At night, the view of the tower from outside is actually better. When you enter, you take a commemorative photo, but the staff just takes it, so you have to find your center and stand there to take it. You can choose to buy a photo when you leave. There is a small souvenir shop at the observatory, and there is also a machine where you can engrave commemorative coins. The view is not very good, but it is worth it because you can overlook the entire Odori Park.
