What to expect

This is a one-day Noboribetsu tour departing from Sapporo. The overall route is smooth, without backtracking, allowing you to slowly experience lake views, ranches, volcanic landscapes, and hot spring towns in one day. The tour departs from Sapporo city in the morning, with pickup points at JR Sapporo Station and Odori Park, and returns in the evening. The itinerary is not too tight, and it won't affect your evening plans. The tour will pass through the Lake Toya area, stopping at an observation deck where you can overlook the lake and surrounding natural scenery. It also includes Kyogoku Meisui Park, where the spring water is clear, and you can see a distant view of Mount Yotei when the weather is good. The overall atmosphere is refreshing, and it's also suitable for taking simple photos. A stop is scheduled at Lake Hill Farm, a ranch with an open environment and a slower pace, perfect for strolling and taking photos, providing a relaxing break in the itinerary. Afterward, the tour proceeds to Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch (entrance fee not included), where you can see brown bears up close, a popular spot for first-time visitors to Hokkaido. In the afternoon, the tour enters the Noboribetsu area. Hell Valley is a representative landscape of the itinerary, with its volcanic terrain and rising white smoke being highly recognizable. After that, enjoy free time in Noboribetsu Onsen Town, where you can stroll around, buy souvenirs, or have a simple meal. There are no mandatory arrangements, and the time is relatively flexible. Overall, the itinerary is geared towards a leisurely pace, not focused on the number of attractions visited, making it more suitable for those who want to easily enjoy the natural scenery of Hokkaido, are visiting Noboribetsu for the first time, or prefer a less rushed day trip. The tour time is in Japan local time, and the order of the day may be reasonably adjusted due to weather or road conditions.

Review for: Hokkaido Classic Noboribetsu Day Trip

We were very lucky to have tour guide Xiao Hong, who happened to be Taiwanese. He introduced us to the history of Hokkaido and the scenery along the way. More importantly, he speaks Mandarin, English, and Korean. The only minor drawback might be the long travel distances, which meant we could only make brief stops at some attractions. However, tour guide Xiao Hong thoughtfully reminded everyone about boarding and alighting times and to ensure they had all their belongings. Thanks to his guidance, we learned so much more about Hokkaido.

Good to know

Traffic congestion is common in Japan during weekends and holidays (especially around the Bon Festival, August 13th to 16th), and some attractions may close early. The itinerary may be adjusted or shortened depending on actual conditions. It is recommended not to book dinner, flights, or Shinkansen (bullet train) tickets and to bring snacks and portable chargers. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you need to bring luggage, please inform us in advance. The luggage fee is JPY 2000 per piece, payable in cash to the driver or guide on the day of the tour. Please check your email. We will contact you by email if we cannot reach you through messaging apps. We will do our best to accommodate your seating requests, but as this is a shared tour, seats are primarily allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have special needs, please let us know in the remarks, and we will do our best to arrange a suitable seat for you. The final arrangement will be at the discretion of the guide on the day of the tour. We appreciate your understanding and consideration. Please be aware that since this is a group tour, there may be guests of other languages traveling with you. Thank you for your understanding. When the number of participants does not reach the minimum group size, the tour will be canceled, and a cancellation email will be sent one day before departure. In the event of inclement weather such as typhoons or blizzards, a decision will be made one day before departure (local time 18:00) as to whether to cancel the tour, and you will be notified by email. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring warm clothing (if needed). The above itinerary is for reference only, and traffic conditions are beyond our control. Please avoid scheduling activities for the evening of the tour. We apologize for any delays. Our company is not responsible for, nor can we offer refunds or rescheduling due to, traffic, weather, or other unavoidable factors that prevent participation in the tour or affect the quality of photo scenery. Thank you for your understanding. If traffic congestion or facility maintenance affects the itinerary or the amount of time spent at each attraction, the schedule will be adjusted. Please inform those concerned. The company will not provide a refund for any abandonment of the tour due to personal reasons. Please be sure to arrive at the designated meeting point at the specified time and do not be late. As this tour cannot accommodate transfers to other routes or joining midway, if you are unable to participate in the day trip due to your own reasons, you will be responsible for the corresponding losses. Thank you for your understanding. If children under 3 years old require a seat, please purchase a ticket, which is the same price as an adult, and please make a note of it. Children under 2 years old who do not require a seat can participate for free, but you must make a note of it. If you do not make a note, we will not be able to arrange it. Vehicle type: Vehicles will be dispatched according to the number of people. When the tour group is small, the driver will also serve as the tour guide, providing full travel services. There will be no additional tour leader. Please be aware of this. Weather conditions will affect the best viewing period for flowers or autumn leaves. The tour will not be canceled or refunded for this reason. Thank you for your understanding. As there will be large crowds during the flower/autumn foliage season, there may be serious traffic jams. We recommend bringing your own snacks. The flowering/autumn foliage season is subject to weather conditions and may be slightly earlier or later. After the tour is confirmed, it will proceed as scheduled regardless of the flowering/foliage situation. Thank you for your understanding. # * Day trip itineraries do not include personal travel or personal accident insurance. If you need it, please purchase it yourself. Outdoor activities and high-risk sports all have specific risks and dangers. You must assess your own health or ability.
