What to expect
TIA offers a fun and compact 30-minute tea ceremony experience in the heart of Kiyomizu, Kyoto. Our English-speaking guide explains each step—from the basic etiquette to how to whisk your own matcha—making it perfect even for first-timers. We use authentic Kiyomizu-yaki tea bowls, Uji matcha, and Kyoto sweets for a truly local touch. Fun fact: the phrase “Otemae Itadakimasu” was once known as a little “magic word of etiquette” in tea culture. Photos and videos are welcome, so you can learn, enjoy, and capture beautiful memories. Combine it with kimono rental for an even more special Kyoto experience. Why not try a real tea ceremony in a casual, friendly way?

Reviews
So much fun! We learned a lot about the Japanese tea ceremony and met lots of wonderful people from around the world. Our tea master was so adorable and quite humorous. We loved dressing up in the kimonos.
