Kobe Mount Maya Night View Day Trip

First stop: [Nunobiki Herb Gardens] The Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens is one of the largest herb gardens in Japan, located on a 400-meter-high mountaintop in Kobe. Be sure to experience the Nunobiki Ropeway! During the 10-minute ascent, the cityscape of Kobe slowly shrinks into building blocks, allowing you to enjoy the city view of Kobe. We recommend hiking down the mountain! Twelve themed gardens are distributed along the hillside, with seasonal flowers and herbs blooming in colorful splendor.

Second stop: [Atoa Aquarium] ATOA Art Aquarium: Not your ordinary aquarium! It is a theater-style aquarium that combines themes such as aquariums, digital art, and stage art. In the spherical aquarium, schools of fish swim with the lights, like traveling through the galaxy; the Japanese-style exhibition area is matched with goldfish, filling the space with a Wabi-sabi atmosphere.

Third stop: [One of Japan’s three major night views! Mt. Maya or Mt. Rokko night view] Go chase the million-dollar night view when it gets dark! The first choice is to go to Mt. Maya Kikuseidai Observatory to view the scenery. The lights are like crushed diamonds paving the sea, and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is brightly lit and super stunning. If you can’t go due to weather or other reasons, go to Mt. Rokko to enjoy the night view! Watching the city lights up as the cable car ascends is super healing, and the Tenrandai observation deck has a super wide field of vision. It’s very healing to watch the night view with a cup of hot drink (cable car at your own expense).
