Reviews
This was an incredibly unique highlight of my family trip, held at a temple that is not normally open to the public. The experience was led by a truly serene and positive monk, who shared Buddhist philosophy while guiding us through practical exercises. It didn't feel designed just for tourists; I believe even locals would find great value in it. My two kids are 9 and 10 years old trying to learn to be more focus on their studies and it is all worth it. We also learned about Japanese tea ceremony and had the rare opportunity to explore the temple's historic buildings and beautiful gardens. It was a profoundly peaceful and insightful experience. Highly recommended!
Haruka was excellent as our guide. The whole experience with the monk in the private temple, starting with a lesson and tea and then practicing a 20 minute Zazen meditation was wonderful. It was lovely to finish with an opportunity to explore the moss garden and temple grounds. A very memorable lifetime experience in Kyoto.
An excellent experience. Saya our English-speaking guide was very helpful and had a personal connection with the monk. Her translation was very good. The small meditation hut was beautiful and the monk gave clear instructions for 20 minutes of mindfulness of breathing. We loved the atmosphere and the moss garden was awesome
There was a lot of learning, guidance, and we were able to stay behind and ask a lot of questions and take photos. This was definitely worth it!
incredible experience, thoughtful host and transformative practice
