What to expect
Hokkaido's winter is a love letter written to the world, an encounter with pure white and azure blue.
Route Overview: ① Asahiyama Zoo - ② Popular Ken & Mary Tree (drive-by) - ③ Shirahige Falls - ④ Shirogane Blue Pond (Biei Blue Pond) - ⑤ Forest Fairy Terrace
Highlights: ① [Asahiyama Zoo]: Asahikawa is home to Japan’s northernmost zoo and is one of the area’s unique features. Asahiyama Zoo focuses on cold-climate animals. The zoo has carefully created an environment that closely resembles the natural habitat, providing a comfortable environment for over 700 animals of 124 species. In winter, you can watch the super-cute penguin parade. ② [Ken & Mary]: “Ken and Mary’s Tree” is famous for the simple scenery that appeared in an advertisement. In 1972, Nissan Skyline’s commercial “A Journey Without a Map” used a huge poplar tree as a scene in the hilly area of Biei, where the filming took place. The tree became a popular tourist spot after the advertisement aired and was named “Ken and Mary’s Tree” after the actor’s roles. ③ [Shirahige Falls]: Admire the stunning winter waterfalls. It is especially spectacular when the hoarfrost and shiny icicles illuminate the blue ice valley below. ④ [Shirogane Blue Pond]: Its greatest feature is the Tiffany blue color of the pond water, combined with the white withered branches in the pond, which has also been praised by many netizens as “God accidentally spilled the paint palette.” ⑤ [Forest Fairy Terrace]: This place is like a scene from a fairy tale book, a wooden path surrounded by trees, with more than a dozen warm wooden houses dotted on both sides.

Reviews
XIXI our tourist guide from KLOOK. She speaks well of the tour. Very friendly snd accomdating in all the clients. She maies sure we are safe and enjoy our tour.
Tour guide Xiao Yu's explanations were excellent; she was clear throughout and very willing to help. She's a great guide. Please note that for the Ken & Mary Tree (drive-by), you will not get off the bus when booking. I hope Klook can clearly state that some attractions may not be visible during certain months. I visited in early March, and the Shirogane Blue Pond was unfortunately frozen over and not visible. However, without renting a car, visiting so many spots in one day is quite convenient, but it means you can't take your time to explore thoroughly.
DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR. Not worth the money. Most of the tour is spent on the road—travel time eats up almost the entire day. The zoo is just okay and rushed (around 1.5 hours only including lunch). Other attractions require long walks from the parking area but give you only 20–30 minutes to look around—barely enough to enjoy or take photos. The only positive is that the tour guide is very nice. Overall, this tour is overpriced and disappointing. Save your money and plan independently or choose a better-organized tour.
