Shirakawa-go Gassho Village: Explore Japan's Unique Thatched Roof Houses Shirakawa-go is located in a quiet mountain valley surrounded by mountains, and it is world-renowned for its 113 traditional Gassho-style buildings. Climb to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the human-shaped thatched roofs, which resemble a fairytale world, with different seasonal scenery and fiery autumn leaves. Hida Takayama: Ancient Shopping Streets and Gourmet Experiences Hida Takayama, known as "Little Kyoto", retains a strong Edo-era atmosphere. [Recommended Equipment] Clothing: The temperature difference between morning and evening is large in autumn, so you can bring a cold-proof jacket for easy addition or removal. Shoes: Non-slip hiking shoes (be careful of slipping due to fallen leaves on some trails in autumn). Other: Lightweight backpack, thermos cup (for hot water), sunscreen, hat (windproof and sunscreen), small amount of snacks (such as chocolate, energy bars). Trekking poles are recommended for long routes.
