[Nagoya Kamikochi Hiking Tour] One-Day Nature Forest Hiking Tour of Kamikochi & Taisho Pond & Tashiro Pond & Kappa Bridge & Myojin Pond & Hotaka Mountain Range & Hotaka Shrine Okumiya (Departure from Nagoya)

Saw a TikTok about this place and became super hyperfixated that I NEEDED to go here no matter what. Taking this tour was a great choice as it allowed for an easy transfer to and from Kamikochi. The first stop at Taisho Ike Pond was breathtaking which got me excited for the rest of the walk. the greenery of the forest in mid June was a sight to behold along with the Japanese Apls in the distance. The trial was not super crowded until you reached Kappa Bridge. There is also an additional trail to Myojin Bridge and Myojin First Pond but only if you have an additional 2 hours to spare. I was taking my time on the first trail that couldn’t make it to the second but I would definitely come back to do it!!

No group chat. It would be so much easier if they have one. Overall the driver and guide are both nice. The price is worth it as the view is really breathtaking. This tour is the highlight of our Japan tour. It took us 2 hrs to walk from Taisho pond to Kappa bridge because of the view, wherever you look the view is picturesque.

Whole Experience to Kamikochi The trip to Kamikochi was truly wonderful, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Traveling from Nagoya took about 3.5 hours, and it was absolutely worth it. Along the way, our tour guide explained the entire itinerary in detail and even shared some great food recommendations that we must try while in Nagoya.

We experienced rain, snow and sun during our Kamikochi hiking tour. The scenery was stunning in autumn and we enjoy the nature walk in this cool weather. We didn’t feel tired and took many photos for this tour for remembrance.

A really great natural journey to explore Kamigochi. We only have 3.5hrs to visit. There is two ways to visit the mountains. We choose the easier way which start from Taisho-ike. It officially takes 1.5 hours to walk to the bus terminal. However, if you love taking photos and enjoying your lunch with the spectacular view, 3.5hrs is just barely enough. There is some great souvenirs at Kappa-bashi Bridge.Our tour guide Lee was very helpful and nice.

Our group of seven international students (from Thailand, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos and Philippines) at Nagoya University joined with a trip arranged by them. We enjoyed hiking, eating Apple pie. Guides were great. They helped us take a group photo. The bus driver was professional and so far my knowledge none felt motionsickness despite sitting on the back. I would say it’s value for money. It was cheaper than other available options.

You can choose to get off at Taisho Pond and walk to Kappa Bridge, or get off at Kappa Bridge and walk to Myojin Pond. The former is about a one-hour walk, and the latter is a two-hour round trip. This time, we got off at Taisho Pond and walked directly to Myojin Pond, then returned to Kappa Bridge, which was about 11.6 kilometers. Walking at a brisk pace took about 2.5 hours. You can return within the allotted time if you don't linger too long along the way, and you'll still have time to browse the shops. However, you need to assess your physical strength and pace carefully. Some people in our group couldn't make it back, and the bus left without waiting for them. The shops are next to Kappa Bridge, and it takes some time to queue at the cashier, so be sure to factor that in. Basically, the trails are relatively flat and easy to walk. There are some small slopes from Kappa Bridge to Myojin Pond, but they are also easy to navigate.

Another tour that wasn’t clear that was self-guided. Nonetheless, my folks and I enjoyed every step and view. Even if it was summer time, we were able to enjoy this trip! The views are amazing and the way we started the trip to the ending was a good and ideal decision because we didn’t have to worry about carrying things that we bought at the end. Can’t wait to go back and do a longer hike!

We were a group of 4 traveling directly from Tokyo to Nagoya on the morning train. They were kind enough to store all our luggage and suitcases in the bus. We had a fantastic experience! Cesar, our guide, was very familiar with the area and explained the entire 6KM hike clearly. We had a great time with Cesar and his colleague Paul. The bus driver, a lady, was excellent—she navigated the hilly, hairpin curves safely, and we felt secure throughout the journey. Additionally, I would recommend, even if you're from Osaka or Tokyo, to take the morning train and book this tour from Nagoya. We returned on time around 6:20 PM, giving us enough time for a nice dinner at Nagoya station before heading back home.

The air was noticeably fresh, the kind that instantly clears your mind. The Kappa Bridge (Kappabashi) is the central landmark, and from there, a well-maintained network of walking trails lets you explore at your own pace. It’s a place where time slows down, and every breath feels like a reset. Highly recommended for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone in need of a little peace.
