loved this experience!!! the staff was so friendly and spoke English and Japanese. the education was insightful and the tastings was so fun and delicious!!!
I was lucky that I was the only one there at that time. I'm very grateful to the lady who explained everything so diligently, introducing each different type of plum and sugar. Through the experience, I learned even more about plum wine.
Had a wonderful experience making our own Ume syrup and umeshu. Rika who guided us through was really friendly and gave good explanation about the history of Choya and about Ume. They also provided secure lid for the bottles so that we can put it safely inside our luggage.
The team are absolutely lovely!! They take the time to explain what Umeshu is, make you taste and help you choose. I love every seconds of it !! My only grievance is they don't ship worldwide. 😭 Please, if you do book them, try their Ume Soda! Delicious !!!
This was a fun experience learning about plum wine, making it and then able to take it home. Who knew there could be so many variations. Would def recommend. our host was very knowledgeable and her English was very good.
amazing time! the area is very active with lots of shopping and the staff are so sweet. we got to taste lots of syrup and even an example of the wine. it’s very easy and we got a nice understanding of umeshu history.
Choya making experience was interesting and delightful - simple and brief exposure to the different types of ume and sugar. Tried the umes and sugars briefly but wasn’t allowed to try the alcohol with the umes - a little inflexible when we wanted to decrease the alcohol volume as we are not huge drinkers and wasn’t allowed. Very good service by the staff there :)
Emi was the knowledgeable teacher who led us thru our class during my family trip. We had a mix of Chinese and English speakers and she was able to accommodate that. I learned so much about all the different types of Umes that can go into the umeshu process. This was a awesome experience if you are interested or like umeshu!
Wonderful experience! so interesting and the staff were lovely.
One of the best experience I’ve had with my family. my parents thoroughly enjoyed it. Crystal was great at explaining everything in English.
