Kyoto Gion Geisha & Maiko Half-Day Walking Tour

A very beautiful and interesting experience, I can only recommend it. There were also kimonos for somewhat larger people and the staff was very nice. Our group leader told us a lot about the history of Geishas/Geikos and showed us important buildings in the Gion District. The performance of the Maiko was outstanding. Also, listening to the landlady and her experiences was very enlightening. TOP!!! Many thanks for this experience.

educational tour with a guide who helped to take beautiful photos during the tour; you could deepen your experience and try on a traditional kimono; ask questions to the guide and Maiko, enjoy a walking tour of the iconic places of Kyoto where geisha live and lived. we even managed to meet Maiko on the streets of Kyoto, this is a great rarity and luck

Takuma was our tour guide on this experience. He was so informative and helpful. I think he did a great job answering all of the groups questions and with good detail. The owner and Maiko-San were both so friendly and wonderful. The women were both charismatic, who were thoughtful in their answers and stories. Thank you to Takuma and his female partner in answering our questions and introducing the tea house to us. Very informative and welcoming. Do this experience because it is one that is educational and charming.

I loved this day! walked around and learnt some new facts then just watching the fan dance & the q&a time after!

The guide was excellent. I got to sit in front and take close-up photos of the Maiko. The Maiko's dance was incredibly beautiful. It was a wonderful experience. There was plenty of time to chat with the Maiko. The teahouse owner was very attentive and explained the background of the Maiko and Japanese history very well.

our tour guide name was Takuma Goda and this is our highlight of our Kyoto trip it was very fun and memorable. We learned alot about the traditional history of Geisha and Miko. We got to explore two geisha neighborhoods and we were lucky enough to meet a real one live. We also went to a tea house where we enjoyed the dancing of a real miko and her teacher who played an authentic Japanese musical instrument. Ihighly recomend booking this trip to enjoy the real flavor of Kyoto!

This was amazing. The kimono fitting was a little hectic, but dont feel pressured to wear traditional footwear if you dont want to. Our guide was great and gave us plenty of time for photos and questions. the Maiko was lovely to see and witness the efforts she had been putting in to perfect her craft. The tea house mother was very talkative and had a great sense of humor.

expensive but good tour that can be booked somewhat last min. had a good walk around Gion and loved the maiko performance.

It was definitely a great experience. Our guide Mika was able to bring a lot of knowledge and background information. Hardly any question remained unanswered and in general, a lot was shown, presented, and demonstrated. The conversation later with the Maiko was also very interesting. We were a small group, had a pleasant route, and were able to see a lot.

This was one of our highlights. Meeting the geisha maiko and the mother of the house was very interesting, Highly recommend this tour.
