very interesting experience. many sichuan dishes you can freely try like a buffet with many stalls. Fun experience making panda Bao , gong Bao chicken and mapo tofu. Personal guide to bring you around and informative sharing. Recommend for families and friends. Excellent experience !
Very nice experience - hidden gem. Guided by an experienced yet ypung guide who is knowledgeable about Sichuan cuisine and able to explain indepth about the origin and taste. she is also the instructor for the culinary class with ingredients well prepared and safety of participants are of paramount importance. About a 45 mins didi away from city centre. Food - if you arrive early for lunch - is buffet style and a variety of sichuan cuisine.
The content was both systematic and vivid, covering everything from the selection of ingredients and mastery of heat control to historical records in ancient texts and stories of famous chefs. It was utterly captivating to listen to and is well worth a family outing.
The Chengdu Sichuan Cuisine Museum is absolutely worth a visit! It not only boasts rich historical exhibits but also allows visitors to hand-make snacks—offering a fully immersive experience that gives you a whole new understanding of Sichuan cuisine culture. Highly recommended for all travelers visiting Chengdu!
As a chef, I was blown away by the depth of knowledge shared here. The exhibition on Sichuan cuisine’s evolution is well-curated, and the cooking workshop taught me secrets I’d never find in cookbooks. Ending with a traditional banquet was the cherry on top. Don’t miss this
Forget crowded tourist spots—this hidden gem offers deep cultural insight with fun, hands-on activities. You’ll cook, taste, and learn real Sichuan techniques. The staff is warm, the setting is beautiful, and the food? Absolutely authentic and mouthwatering. Worth every minute
This isn’t just a museum—it’s a hands-on journey into the heart of Sichuan culinary culture. We learned about 24 flavor profiles, made our own Kung Pao Chicken, and enjoyed an authentic multi-course Sichuan meal at the end. Perfect for food lovers and families alike

This is an edible museum, hiding the secrets of Sichuan cuisine

  • Chengdu Sichuan Cuisine Museum is located in Gucheng Town, Pixian County, Chengdu, Sichuan. As an "edible museum", it brings a new museum concept - visiting can be done not only with eyes and ears, but also with mouth and nose.
  • The knife skills, heat control, and cooking process of Sichuan cuisine are the core content of Sichuan's intangible cultural heritage. They are dynamic, experiential, and artistic, and can only be displayed through demonstrations and passed down through teaching.
  • Museums should be living. Here there are five main categories: national culture and its carriers, historical sites and architecture, cultural tourism, tourist shopping, and leisure and entertainment for knowledge. The scenic area is divided into the Collection Hall, Sichuan Cuisine Raw Material Exhibition Area, Zao Wang Temple, Old Sichuan Restaurant Street, Sichuan Cuisine Raw Material Processing Tool Exhibition Area, Interactive Demonstration Hall, Tea Tasting and Leisure Hall, etc.
