Things to do in Beppu

The tour package made our trip convenient. Our guide Jimmy was very enthusiastic and made the tour more enjoyable even with the rainy weather. The Yufuin no Mori train is a must to experience, and luckily the rain stopped during our ride (delayed but it was a blessing in disguise). For us, the itinerary was well planned with ample time to explore each destination. Make sure to bring a pair of slippers if you want to try the foot bath in Umijigoku. We really enjoyed our trip, thank you!

The trip was so good. We went to the zoo in the morning and then to umi jigoku, seeing mount yufu on the way to yufuin. Our guide Nicole Yang was very good in explaining and very helpful. She help me taking pictures since I am a solo traveler.

This was an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Mrs. Nana, was very kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the trip. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends. If you join this tour, don’t miss the onsen eggs at Umi Jigoku—they’re incredibly delicious! I only bought one, and I really regret not getting more. The croquettes at Yufuin Floral Village are also a must-try. I also wanted to try the grilled mushrooms, but unfortunately the queue was so long that they sold out before I could buy any. That was a little disappointing. The only downside was visiting in the summer. It was extremely hot, and walking around in the heat was quite tiring. Other than that, I had a great time!

for the price of the tour- it is really worth going as a day trip. super easy meet up and follow instructions on regrouping time. the allocated time for each location was very reasonable and doesn’t feel rushed. but if you are really looking to learn all about the history and explore all parts of the sightseeing points, then it may be a bit tight on time. we left our meet up on time and arrived back by 5:45pm since there was just a little bit of traffic. our guide spoke Chinese, English and Japanese- was all fine!

Our day tour to Dazaifu, Yufuin, Kamado Jigoku, and Umi Jigoku was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The itinerary was well-paced, giving us enough time to explore, take photos, shop, and truly enjoy each stop. A special thanks to our tour guide, Vivian, for making the experience even more memorable. She shared interesting stories and historical facts about every place we visited, which made us appreciate each destination on a deeper level. Her instructions were always clear, and she managed the schedule efficiently, ensuring we had enough free time while keeping the tour running smoothly. Vivian also went the extra mile by recommending local specialties and must-try food, helping us make the most of our visit. Her friendliness, professionalism, and genuine care for everyone in the group made the entire trip enjoyable and stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fukuoka and Beppu. If you get Vivian as your guide, you’re in excellent hands!

Our itinerary for this trip was: starting from Tenjin city center ➡️ Itoshima Hana Shio Pudding ➡️ Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks) at Futamigaura ➡️ Tsukamoto Fish Market ➡️ Miyajidake Shrine ➡️ Munakata Shrine. The driver was very thoughtful! His service attitude was incredibly friendly! He even recommended a delicious seafood restaurant, which my family also thoroughly enjoyed 👍🏽 The car was clean and tidy, and the entire journey went smoothly and perfectly 💯

Day trip to Yufuin no Mori , See Hell and Daizhifu. We had a great experience today. The guide and driver were very friendly and helpful. Even though it was raining, the overall itinerary was very well managed. We had a mini-bus with two guides: Zhu Zhu, who handled Chinese and Korean, and another male guide who provided explanations and commentary in fluent English. This was my first time on a one-day tour, and I was surprised that the guides even walked with us. Zhu Zhu is an excellent guide; she provided detailed information about restrooms and lunch options and consistently ensured the group stayed together and that everyone was accounted for. The entire trip was very enriching. Although the schedule was a bit tight, there was still enough time even for those who love taking photos. We even received small gifts at the end! Since I was staying in Takachiho, I opted out of the return trip, and Zhu Zhu was very enthusiastic in discussing my drop-off location. I'm so glad I joined this one-day tour, and I highly recommend it!

Visiting the 7 Hells is definitely worth it. No guide is needed. Each hell has its own unique characteristic. You can collect stamps at each of the Hells, and best of all, you can enjoy a foot bath in several of them. It's worth dedicating a full day (about 6 hours). I started with the two more remote ones, then took a lunch break (Jigoku meguri is a typical dish), and then finished the other five, which are close to each other. Incredible!
