Takachiho Gorge in Kyushu Island, Japan, is a stunning V-shaped gorge carved by the Gokase River, where you can witness the dramatic scene of this volcanic canyon on a calming boat ride through its narrow chasm. It's a must-visit in Kyushu for its breathtaking natural beauty and mythical atmosphere. As mentioned, one of the most popular activities to do in Takachiho Gorge is to rent a boat and explore through the narrow chasm so you can see the natural wonder up close, along with the cascading Manai Waterfall. Takachiho Gorge boat rental is available near the southern end of the gorge, so you can row under the towering cliffs and waterfalls, but if you prefer to stay on land, there's also a paved trail along the gorge. Another unique experience you shouldn't pass up in the area is the "nagashi somen" dining experience, where noodles flow down bamboo flumes. The combination of natural landscape, outdoor activities, and unique-to-Kyushu experiences makes Takachiho Gorge a destination you wouldn't want to miss.

We had a fantastic experience with Mr. Sun as our tour guide. He was professional, knowledgeable, and always attentive to our needs. His deep understanding of the local Japanese culture and history added so much value to our trip. Mr. Sun was also incredibly organized and made sure everything ran smoothly, from transportation to the sightseeing. His friendly and approachable manner made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. We would highly recommend Mr. Sun to anyone looking for a top-notch tour guide!

For places with inconvenient transportation, it is more convenient to sign up for a one-day tour. The scenery along the way is beautiful. I had a summer like Miyazaki. The only regret is that it was a rainy day and I didn’t take pictures of the beauty of Takachiho water. The tour guide and driver were friendly.

The tour guide Ada is fluent in Chinese, English and Japanese. She will send e-mails to inform you of precautions before the trip. She is a very careful, considerate, dedicated and beautiful female tour guide. The explanation is detailed and thorough. The scenery of the train in this season is not too amazing, but the scenery of the Takachiho Gorge is great. It is recommended to arrange a boating trip when traveling in Takachiho.

This time, the tour guide Zheng switched between Korean and Chinese very well and was very humorous. Other tourists were also very punctual. I thought I would miss the Takachiho boat trip that I booked online, but fortunately I could still row (you need to report your name at the ticket exchange center and you will be given a ticket to take the boat). In order not to delay everyone's time, I quickly rowed to the waterfall to take a photo. There was also a couple from another country who helped me take a photo. Finally, I took a look at this view and rowed back. I jogged and the whole way was sloped 😂 The group I joined this time was also a pleasant journey

Had a good time joining this tour despite the bad weather. Pace is just nice and our guides are friendly and kind. Although Mt Aso is foggy and can’t see much due to the strong fog but rest of the itinerary like Takachiho Gorge is lovely despite the rain. It has a peaceful vibes while walking in the rain with umbrella. A pity we did not see any boat rolling activity as it was cancelled due to rain. Lunch was good and filling. Also enjoy a peaceful nature walk to visit the Amanoiwato Shrine near the river.

Aso Volcano & Kusa Chisato & Takachiho Gorge one-day tour, see the magnificence of Aso Volcano, the picturesque beauty of Kusa Chisato, the grandeur and strangeness of Takachiho Gorge, and the poetry of boat trip. Under the guidance of tour guide Miss Jiang, the itinerary was appropriate and the service was thoughtful. After lunch, each person was given a free bottle of milk, which was fresh and delicious. Although the journey was a bit long, the one-day journey was also very satisfying, especially the hard work of the driver, who drove back and forth for more than 6 hours. This journey was eye-opening and worth participating in.
