Things to do in Christchurch

The environment is beautiful, and the alpacas are well cared for. I booked the tour in Mandarin, and the staff was very enthusiastic and funny, and also offered to take pictures. The whole tour, from the explanation to taking pictures with the alpacas and feeding them, is followed by a choice of coffee, tea, or juice, along with a cookie. The whole experience takes about an hour. Because it's popular, you can't wander around after the tour; they need to prepare for the next group of visitors! Although it's not long, it's definitely worth it. The alpacas don't smell at all, and they're very friendly and super cute.

The whole tour was amazing, although the itinerary was a bit hectic. Except for Mt. Cook, the other stops were quite short — just enough time to snap a few photos before moving on to the next spot. It’s understandable since the destinations are quite far from Christchurch. They also provided free lunch and snacks (chips), which was a nice touch

I had a good time travelling from Christchruch to Queenstown. We were also stopped at several places like Mt. Cook, Tasman Glacier, Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki, Lindis Pass, Orchrdas and High Country Salmon. If you are travelling from Christchurch to Queenstown, you will be transferred into other van in Mt Cook. Don't worry, the driver is as welcome as the first one. Overall good experience, thank you!

The Highlights The wildlife sightings were spectacular. We were incredibly lucky to check off the "big three" of the harbor: Hector’s Dolphins: The absolute stars of the show. Seeing these rare, playful dolphins up close was a magical experience. Albatross: We were treated to the sight of these majestic birds gliding effortlessly over the water. New Zealand Fur Seals: We spotted several seals lounging on the rocks, which added a lovely touch to the coastal scenery. A Quick Tip for Travelers It is worth noting that the sea swell can get quite high once you head out toward the harbor entrance. Overall, the crew was professional, the scenery was breathtaking, and the wildlife encounters were once-in-a-lifetime. I can’t recommend this cruise enough!

Our guide Ben and Maddie was very patient and professional. Highly knowledgeable of the area and explains aspects of sea kayak to us all. We saw the little penguins eggs and seals on rocks plus bonuses of spotting hector dolphins. Make sure to bring a water proof pouch to take pictures.
