Pattaya’s Top Class Botanical Wonder, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden

The Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is a 600-acre garden complex in Pattaya, making it the largest botanical garden in Southeast Asia! It is famous for its main attractions centered around grandiose displays of breathtaking floras and meticulously structured statues of fauna recreated by local artists. These offer varied ambiances and sceneries, making it a visual favorite and staple for tourists visiting The Land of Smiles!
Did you know? The 600-acre garden is visited by over 2000 international tourists each day!

The Nong Nooch Tropical Garden’s Fascinating History

During the 1950s, both founders, husband Pisit Tansacha and wife Khun Nongnooch Tansacha, purchased land with the initial plan to transform the area into a fruit orchard. But their excursions abroad acquainted them with fascinating concepts such as prehistory, the distinctly exquisite contributions to the architectural realm of countries like France and Italy, visually enticing yet mysterious subjects like The Stonehenge, and more!
Their multicultural adventures sparked inspiration, which subsequently gave birth to the design and formation of the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden everyone knows now - encompassing the journeys taken and the life lived by the couple. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the reflections of their travels through their elaborate themed gardens!

Nong Nooch Tropical Garden’s Awesome Themed Sections!

    1) Dinosaur Valley

Be transported back in time at the Dinosaur Valley and meet the former towering queens and kings of the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods, the dinosaurs! These lifesized recreations stand scattered around the surrounding area alongside various rock formations and greenery mimicking the land before time.
    2) The European Garden

Marvel at architectural excellence and masterful shrub topiary decorating the entirety of the European Garden! This section draws heavy inspiration from one of the world’s famed heritage sites, the influential artistic gem known as the Palace of Versailles in France.
The theatricality of the visual components, particularly the repetitions and dominating presence of windows along the exterior of the 3-story chateau are due to the time of its creation when the French Baroque style reigned. It balances out the usage of flat-faced stone and brick walls, symmetrical positioning of doorways, and ironwork along the rooftop. However, the overall construction of this sophisticated structure is understandable when former residents include royalties like former King Louis XIV, who didn’t just want to live a lavish lifestyle but to provide a visual portrayal of his wealth and supremacy during the time of his reign.
    3) Bromeliad Display Garden

Aside from coming close to a theme park with its many available attractions, at heart, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is a place that specializes in plant life conservation and propagation. For years, they have developed and cultivated hybrids, including over 3,000 bromeliad species, in a facility within the complex inaccessible to the public as it's strictly for botanical research. However, in the Bromeliad Display Garden, 300 species are available for the admiration of curious eyes.
Fancy a walkway photo? Stand among the colorful and thriving plant life to create the perfect shot for your next snap.
Klook Tip: Stand in the middle to capture all the greenery, whether you’re shooting in landscape or portrait, it’ll still be seen and make you the focal point!

But tourists can admire the sheer dedication of replicating this historic monument to Thailand to be admired as one would with the original, all while surrounded by carefully arranged and shaped shrubbery.
