The Fuji Shibazakura Festival (or in Japanese: 富士芝桜まつり) is an annual event where around 50,000 vibrant moss phlox flowers blanket the fields near Mount Fuji in a spectacular burst of color.
Held at Fuji Motosuko Resort from April 12 to May 25, 2025, the festival offers postcard-perfect views of Mount Fuji, with peak blooms typically arriving in late April.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased online at Klook or at the entrance, which prices may changes according to the peak seasons.

From there, catch the Shibazakura Liner shuttle bus—it’ll take you directly to the festival in about 40 minutes.
2. Direct Bus to the Festival
Looking for the easiest option? Book a direct tour bus from Tokyo at Klook—perfect if you’re heading straight to the festival!
Based on my experience, the direct bus is incredibly convenient, especially if you’re traveling with kids.
No need to worry about transfers or switching between trains and buses—just sit back and enjoy the ride.
3. By Car
Driving a rental car is a great choice if you’re after more flexibility! From central Tokyo, it takes around 2.5 to 3 hours to reach the festival grounds.
Simply set your GPS or Google Maps to Fuji Motosuko Resort for easy navigation.
Parking is available on-site for an extra fee, usually between 500 and 1,000 yen depending on your vehicle type.
Just a heads-up: parking spots fill up fast during peak bloom, so plan to arrive early—especially on weekends!

Want to skip the crowds? Plan your visit on weekdays, ideally early in the morning, to enjoy the festival’s vibrant displays in a more peaceful setting. Weekends tend to get packed, especially during peak bloom.
Visiting during quieter times not only makes the experience more relaxing but also gives you the best chance to snap stunning photos of the shibazakura fields—without the crowds in your frame!

Strike a pose at the festival’s hottest photo spots—the Yellow Door of Happiness, with Mount Fuji and a sea of blooms behind it, and the new colour of the A Small Boat Sailing in the Pink Sea.
