Afternoon Tea at New World Petaling Jaya Hotel

My friend and I went on the weekend and got to have the afternoon tea at New World's Residence Club lounge on the 29th floor. I recommend going on the weekend - rather than a weekday when the tea is at the 2nd floor lounge - as the view over PJ is really nice. Unfortunately, we were seated quite inside, so didn't really get to enjoy the view, so I suggest calling up beforehand and asking if you can reserve a window table. The food was not really outstanding tastewise (i.e. average), although there was good variety visually and flavourwise. Portions were good in size, e.g. although some of the pastries came in only one portion, they were big enough to easily divide and share between the two of us. The scones were a bit of a disappointment though, as they were rather dry and small - one was actually half the size of the others, although we didn't complain about it. The cream provided was whipped cream, rather than clotted, although the strawberry jam and honey came in jars and were quite nice (Berenberg brand). You can choose from a variety of the usual coffees and teas. I like that they use loose leaves for the tea, rather than bags - better, longer-lasting flavour. There was no problem getting hot water refills, as well as extra jam and honey for the scones, by catching their attention. Service was quick and fairly attentive. Overall, for the price, the quantity is certainly good and filling, even though quality is average. The 29th floor lounge is also spacious, comfortable and nice to hang out in.

Overall it was great. The food was amazing and delicately made. Good mix of sweet and savoury. The presents of the food was beautiful as well. They seemed understaffed as I had to wait a while till I was severed. The tables there are quite small, they could not fit the 2 sets I ordered. Other than those 2 points nothing else really was an issue. Atmosphere was amazing, as it was a rainy day there were clouds and light mist. Looking out felt like we were at Genting Highlands. Highly Recommend and will come again for their other seasonal menu sets.

We were ushered to the 29th floor that was spacious and comfortable. The food presentation was excellent and was not your usual tea time fare. The combinations were well planned and executed beautifully with the Christmas season. One point deduction for the poor drinks... take only the teas and you won’t go wrong.

Beautiful scenery and foods. Really like it! The staff also very helpful. The desserts very price worthy and instagram able. Will repeat again with family and friends

The only thing that trouble me, still have to call to make reservation after booking from Klook. I dint call for reservation before that and only realize when I’m otw going, got noticed that already full for the day then I quickly make the date changes through Klook. And thanks god Klook allowed me to change the date then i called to hotel for reservation. Ps: hotel call might abit trouble due to changing departing of calling and not always people answering your call. But it’s ok, take to patient to let them know how many call you have made and even text then they will give you another person in-charge contact to call directly. We went over on weekday, venue at 2nd floor lobby lounge. Not many seat which makes me feel some privacy and secure. Food portion is pretty much enough for two person. Serving is abit slow, waiting for more than 30minutes after when we arrive.

Delicious food and plenty for 2 adults and a child. Good taste and service. I recommend their themed afternoon teas I’ve done their Christmas and cny ones now and they are both worth it.

Delicious afternoon tea with good quality food and drinks. Service was very good everyone was helpful and kind and they had the table reserved for us. Highly recommend.

Overall is good, we are served in level 2 with the window seat which can view the overall of kelana jaya. I found that they no longer serve the "high heel", abit disappointed. the huge caramel macaroon and chocfanacier, super sweet which we couldn't take it at all. quiche tastes good but abit too small. The chocolate drink just quite normal, nothing special, not rich enough. however, the green tea is extraordinary great! scones, quite disappointed too, super hard and tasteless.

Extremely warm and attentive service by the staff at the hotel, very nice view from the 29th floor.

It was a fantastic high tea! My kids love it so much. The presentation of the savoury and sweet dessert was awesome and tempting too.
