Balik Pulau Cyling Tour with Local Villages Visit in Penang

Was a fun and relaxing experience cycling around the village. Get to see beautiful view and learn some of the history there. The tour guide was great in explaining and let us see and try some of the plants such as rambutan, etc. It was drizzling halfway and the tour guide was well prepared and give us poncho. Highly recommended this tour for anyone who wishes to explore outside of penang.

We woke up early to head to Balik Pulau for a countryside bike ride, often called Penang's last secret garden. Sam led us through lush rice paddies, villages, coastal areas, and mangrove forests. We saw a variety of tropical fruits, spices, organic crops, incredibly colorful birds, tiny red crabs, and fighting mudskippers. It was a truly unique cycling experience. A special thank you to Sam, who was both professional and enthusiastic, sharing insights into Penang Island's history, culture, and local charm, and even picking rambutans for us to taste. If you're visiting Penang, we highly recommend a bike tour in Balik Pulau; it's the best way to truly experience this beautiful countryside.

Free island-wide pickup and drop-off, the itinerary is not tiring, the country roads are flat, suitable for family cycling. Ride through rice fields, villages, beaches, and mangroves. You can see all kinds of tropical fruits, crops, birds, fighting mudskippers, and even turtles... The tour leader is very enthusiastic, explains things in detail, and is patient! He also runs a B&B and rents out bicycles. If two and a half hours (stopping several times to see the scenery, so you don’t actually cycle that long) is not enough, you can rent a bicycle again and explore the peaceful villages of Balik Pulau yourself!

Had a great morning doing the Countryside Bicycle Tour in Balik Pulau. Our guide Sam was super friendly and shared lots of local stories along the way. Loved the animal feeding stop, the crab farm, and the chilled drink at the farmhouse. Riding through the rice fields and coconut plantations was beautiful, Overall a really smooth and fun experience!

We had an amazing time on the Balik Pulau Cycling Tour. The tour guide, Uncle Sam, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. It was a relaxing and enjoyable ride through beautiful sceneries like lush green paddy fields, rustic kampungs, fishing villages, and vibrant vegetable farms. We also got to see some local farm animals along the way, which added to the charm of the experience. If you’re looking for a unique way to explore the countryside of Penang, this tour is definitely worth it!

If you're visiting Penang, you absolutely must come! The beautiful rural scenery offers a great introduction to Malay culture... it's truly worthwhile.

Lovely sceneries with an extremely helpful and friendly tour guide. The tour guide took the initiative to help with our photo taking and encouraged us to try out the different fruits along the way. Very knowledgeable and comprehensive experience. Even the shutter service from our accommodation was smooth. The charter driver Mr Henry was very nice to drop us off to our desired destination as well.

It is a worthwhile trip. Penang is not just about eating and drinking. Going to Balik Pulau to experience the local customs and understand the culture can give you a deeper understanding of Penang. The tour guide Sam is very talkative and takes us to ride through the villages (all are flat roads) ), told some stories, took us to see the lives of local residents, and also mentioned the pioneering spirit of the Chinese ancestors in Malaysia, as well as the current vision of local creation. Recommended! During the process, we talked about durians. The tour guide asked the driver to take us to an orchard on our way back. Because we exceeded the time, there was an additional charge of 40 ringgit an hour.
